Due to get induced due to low Papp-a 40+1 but I really don’t want an Induction so I’m starting to consider an elective csection instead so I still have positive experience alongside more control?

With my first I was induced and it was a terrible experience! I ended up having an emergency c section then opted for c section for my second and it was an amazing experience!

I had a c section as my little girl was breech. I had the most amazing experience. It was so calm and controlled. recovering for me was quick and painless. I was up hoovering 4 days later. I would do it again if I needed too!
Good luck 🫶🏽

I had a C-section for my twins, it was great! I was walking the same day and I didn’t feel any pain or discomfort afterwards.
I would do it again if I needed to! But not planning to have anymore, specially after twins haha)
The only thing that bothers is the scar. It hurts sometimes, mostly discomfort, it was itching a lot for the first few weeks.

I had an elective C-section and I absolutely loved it. I never had the pre op for it as I had to bring it forward due to pre-eclampsia. I had a midwife from about an hour before the section, during it and for a while after to make sure myself and my baby were ok, my partner was there also. I got taken into theatre had a bit of a wobble as it was really overwhelming at first but a nurse held my hand until it all started. The anesthesiologist talked me through everything step by step reassured me through out the operation then afterwards you're put in a recovery room for an hour to make sure everything is ok until you went back to your room. I know another hospital in my city who doesn't do half of that so just depends on your hospital. I was in the hospital for 5 days as my BP was all over the place and the recovery is difficult at first but after that first week you get back into the swing of things slowly just do your best not to push yourself too much if you do decide to have one. Best of luck x

Some people have really good induction stories. I personally would try to go that route and start off slow. Try to avoid c section unless you can’t by the end. But having to deal with the surgery and healing with a baby isn’t the best. Obviously you can if you end up getting one. And it’s totally doable but being able to recover without a major surgery is nice. There are ways to have inductions because gentle and slow so I’d try that first.

My induction with my first was actually such a positive experience, so it's very possible to have a great induction- I feel like the horror stories are just the only ones that ever get talked about.
I also had an elective c section with my 3rd, after an emergency c section with my 2nd (not induced). And the elective was also a great experience. I don't think there's a wrong answer, it's just what you're most comfortable with. Keep in mind that a c section does have a longer recovery and there are possibilities of long lasting side effects (I have scar adhesions that are resistant to even professional scar massage).

I had a c-section with my second and a natural birth with my first. Obviously the natural birth was much better, especially with the recovery. I'm almost 2 weeks post c-section now and am starting to feel okay, but I do miss being able to carry my toddler and I'm relying on my partner a lot more than with our first. But I've always said that personally I'd never have an induction. I'm sure some people have great inductions, but I've personally never met one. I'd rather the c-section and know what I'm in for, than an induction which may just end in a c-section anyway

I’ve heard of people having a rougher recovery after ‘natural’ delivery complications than planned c sections so it literally all depends on the person I think.

i recommend an elective c-section to anyone and everyone! it’s is a much better experience in my opinion. personally, i would rather be calm, have music and essential oils going, and be happy when my child is born. not in the worst pain of my life. and the recovery is not nearly as bad as you would think. AND i would rather keep my vagina tight and intact. it’s totally a personal choice but i think giving birth naturally is barbaric.

I had an elective due to low papp-a as couldn't have and didn't want an induction. Did not enjoy the elective 😅 still preferred that over an induction though

absolutely! You have every right to have so much say in your birth. I had to have a category 1 emergency c section under general anaesthetic with my first which was the most traumatic thing ever!
This time round I want so much say in my elective!

For medical reasons I couldn’t go to term so they wanted to induce me…I was very much against induction and went for an elective c-section. It’s certainly not the “easy way out” but the c-section itself was a mostly positive experience, and recovery was hard but not as hard as I expected
Hi my baby girl cord came off and it looks like this should I be worried?

Hey moms, my 6 month old keeps on having these involuntary arm flings on his one arm. I am wondering if it is totally normal?
The reason I’m concerned is because one week ago I had a fall while wearing him in the carrier which was a huge scare. At the hospital they did all the checks including an ultrasound of the brain through his Fontanelle which showed everything was completely as it should be, and he had no signs of the fall at all. But since then I noticed the arm movements and can’t remember if it happened before, it’s totally normal that it’s happening and if I’m being a bit paranoid post trauma from the fall, or it could be linked in any way that I need another opinion?
Advice please!

I’ve had a lot of period type cramps the last few days. They’re noticeable but not unbearable. I am 8 weeks 3 days, but anywhere between 7,5and 8,3 realistically. I can’t remember having cramping with my first, and this has got me worried.
