I have my babies 8 week vaccines tomorrow. What should I expect?
My friend told me to give calpol before but my health visitor said to wait till after- what did other people do? Is it really that bad to give it before

Every baby is different but my girl was absolutely fine. She only cried for a few seconds after the jab. I gave her a good feed and a dose of calpol in the car before driving home. She slept for most of the day but woke up for her feeds and was happy when awake. She never had a fever from any of her vaccines so we didnt give any extra doses of calpol. I'm not sure if it would have made any difference if I gave it her the calpol before or after, but it definitely helped giving her a big feed after to help settle her and get her to rest. š

I followed this advice. Calpol straight away and then two more doses spaced 4-6hrs apart. My little one was absolutely fine other than maybe a bit more clingy. No idea if she would have developed a temp without the calpol but didnāt seem worth the risk to me.
And ditto the above, sit in the waiting room or the car and feed afterwards. Helps them settle š„°

Have calpol ready for straight away after, but I was advised by the nurse to not give it before - as they shouldn't have the vaccine if they are unwell and the calpol could mask any illness they might have.

Take Calpol with you and give it immediately after. My little one had a bit of a temperature that evening and wasn't feeling great. I think he was feeling a bit sore and achy as he really cried when. It came to changing him and moving him round but he was fine by the next morning. He was similar with the 12 week but without the temperature. After 12 weeks you can give baby nurofen to keep on top of temps and aches. The 16 week ones he was absolutely fine, didn't need any Calpol and didn't even cry at the jab.
Put them in an outfit with leggings/trousers for easier access to the thighs

Iāve always given calpol an hour before covers the pain of the jabs rather than waiting for it to kick in after
On October 14th, I lost my old girl, Emma. My younger dog (Zeke) became very ill the night she passed. I thought he was mourning, but it soon became apparent that he was genuinely sick. He had exploratory surgery and they found lymphoma. I havenāt been able to process the grief from Emmaās death because Iāve been so caught up in saving Zeke. Iām so overwhelmed and sad. I donāt know how to balance being a mom, Speech & OT, losing my girl, and chemotherapy for my baby dog. I feel like Iām spiraling.

Hi friends, my 5 week old has a bit of a preference for his left side when lying down. At 2 weeks the pediatrician noticed it (at the time, he practically refused to move his head to his right) and suggested massaging his neck after bath time to loosen the tight muscles.
Just had an appt today and while heās gotten better, he still prefers his left side. His head isnāt misshapen or anything, honestly Iām probably worrying for nothing, but pediatrician said to ākeep up with the exercisesā to strengthen and loosen his muscles.
I am still sleep deprived and can barely string two thoughts together, but what āexercisesā? All she said was to massage him for the issue. We do morning stretches and the black and white cards with him and other various things, but is there anything specific to keep up with for this specific issue other than massages?
Additionally, what are your morning/evening stretch routines with LOās? Always looking to add to his ācurriculumā.

I have a 5 week old who has honestly been eating me out of house and home. Formula fed and have had no issues until last night.
Last night was hell for trying to feed him, honestly he was inconsolable screaming and crying and wouldn't take a bottle, I only managed to get him to take some but lying him on his left side.
Since 7am he has only had 7oz, but honestly quite tired.
Health visitor was around this morning and thought reflux so we got carabel to thicken his milk but he is just really not himself
Very fussy, can only hold him a certain way, refusing bottles but not temp. Has a sore sounding throat but no cough and not sucking in when breathing but wasn't sure if it was the start of rsv

My 9 week old is exclusively breastfed. He has been struggling with poor digestion/gas/colic and I think he might have sensitivity to something(s) I am eating. Has anyone struggled with similar and tried any elimination diets? Or seen a particular specialist who has helped? Any advise to point me in the right direction much appreciated š
