Just be patient . I can’t even count how many times I lost patience when mine was 2 . I tried my hardest not to yell it was hard at times I was also pregnant

I taught my son from about a year old to take a deep breath. When he does that, I acknowledge that I like to help him when he is calm

Literally walking away. If I feel like I can’t handle the tantrum calmly, I just take a second before responding. My daughter is turning 3 in two days, and she's been having a lot of meltdowns.

I showed my daughter (now 4) how to do 'finger breathing' (you run one finger up the first finger on your other hand and take a deep breath in, then as you run it down that finger, you do a big breath out, repeat for all fingers) when she was feeling calm, and told her how I like to do that when my body doesn't feel calm as it helps me to feel quiet and relaxed and settled. Then when she was having the inevitable toddler meltdowns, I would say something like 'oh lovely, I can see you are having a hard time, mummy's here. Would you like a cuddle or some space?' If she chose a cuddle, we would do that, but if she wanted space, I'd just sit near her and say 'mummy's going to do her finger breathing so that her body and mind feel more calm' and I'd model it to her and the process of me really obviously doing some deep breathing and being very overtly calm, seemed to always calm her down and she would either join in or decide she did want a cuddle. Now she's a bit older, she will do it herself at times. Xxx

My daughter turned 2 in July and we are experiencing the same issue with tantrums . If we can’t handle the issue calmly we walk away from her, decompress for a few minutes then redirect the tantrum. Our daughter isn’t very vocal so big feelings can be very hard to navigate so we try to figure out what is causing the situation explain to her why so and so happens, is done , or not done etc. if she proceeds to tantrum we then do quite time and let her ride it out for a few minutes and offer her some water to sip on

Breastfeeding diet

My 9 week old is exclusively breastfed. He has been struggling with poor digestion/gas/colic and I think he might have sensitivity to something(s) I am eating. Has anyone struggled with similar and tried any elimination diets? Or seen a particular specialist who has helped? Any advise to point me in the right direction much appreciated 🙏

Poorly 5 week old

I have a 5 week old who has honestly been eating me out of house and home. Formula fed and have had no issues until last night.
Last night was hell for trying to feed him, honestly he was inconsolable screaming and crying and wouldn't take a bottle, I only managed to get him to take some but lying him on his left side.
Since 7am he has only had 7oz, but honestly quite tired.
Health visitor was around this morning and thought reflux so we got carabel to thicken his milk but he is just really not himself
Very fussy, can only hold him a certain way, refusing bottles but not temp. Has a sore sounding throat but no cough and not sucking in when breathing but wasn't sure if it was the start of rsv

Birth thoughts

Hi guys.
I’m having a bit of a difficult time talking about my birth because I feel like I cheated it almost. It’s hard listening to other mamas stories and I feel like I didn’t do anything or much because of interventions. I had to be induced due to waters breaking and was put on the oxytocin drip - I then had the epidural because the contractions were crazy. They turned the drip off at some point because my body took over. Then the delivery… I ended up with an episiotomy and forceps. I just feel like I didn’t actually ‘give birth’ if that makes sense? Like I feel a bit embarrassed talking about it. Did anyone else have this feeling?

Bath salts

I’m 3 weeks pp. I have a second degree tear so had to get stitches. I’ve got My Expert Midwife bath salts and heard you can use them even with stitches but just wanted to double check. Has anyone used them before with a second degree tear? Does it sting as I’m terrified incase it stings when I go in!
