Just need some reassurance really, my 19 month old boy over the past 3 or so days has been having multiple tantrums , they feel really intense though, he literally hates being told no, one minute wants something and the next he doesn’t want it when I go to offer it, I’m sure it’s normal it’s just a lot mentally, I feel drained by the end of the day. Is there big changes that happen at this age?

Its totally normal

Yeah it’s totally normal, could be some developmental changes happening we realised that after they happened and he seemed to be a lot more calm. He’s 2 in December still has them occasionally but no where near as bad as when he was 18 to 20 months 😅 I feel you and it’s normal to feel physically and mentally drained by the end of the day it will pass! Hang in there 🥰

Yes! My little guy is 21 months now but i remember a few months ago i was like wow what has gotten into him! Throwing himself on the floor screaming at the slightest inconvenience!! He’s a lot better now though so there’s light at the end of the tunnel, hang in there!!

Very normal. Often when they act like that (not knowing what they really want and being frustrated at not getting it) they're feeling a bit unmoored. Being steady and calm is really the best thing you can do.
The big emotions seem extreme because that's how he's feeling them. Extreme. Every little thing feels like the end of the world, and he's experiencing new feelings and emotions for the first time. It's often not as bad as he makes it seem (yes, it is in fact just fine that the pancake was cut a little differently), but to him, it IS that bad, so the trick is to let him feel validated but not allow him to vent emotions with destructive behaviours. To let him feel those emotions, but teach him better ways to express them.
Don't teach in the midst of a meltdown though - that's the worst time. Teach while he's quiet, centered, and engaged. Meltdowns require coregulation and not much else. Talking too much can feel like excess noise and he probably wouldn't even hear you.
Hi guys.
I’m having a bit of a difficult time talking about my birth because I feel like I cheated it almost. It’s hard listening to other mamas stories and I feel like I didn’t do anything or much because of interventions. I had to be induced due to waters breaking and was put on the oxytocin drip - I then had the epidural because the contractions were crazy. They turned the drip off at some point because my body took over. Then the delivery… I ended up with an episiotomy and forceps. I just feel like I didn’t actually ‘give birth’ if that makes sense? Like I feel a bit embarrassed talking about it. Did anyone else have this feeling?

How do you cope with the early morning shift with a baby who refuses to sleep anywhere but on you? 🫠😂
We currently do shifts - I’m on duty from 8:30pm to 4:30am, then my husband takes over from 4:30am to 8:30am so I can get some uninterrupted sleep.
The problem is baby basically stops sleeping in his cot from around 4am and will only sleep on us, so my husband ends up staying awake holding him until my shift is over. 🥲
Husband is going away for two nights for work soon, and I’m honestly wondering how on earth I’m going to manage those early mornings on my own! 😭
Mums who’ve been through this, how did you cope? Did your babies eventually grow out of it, or did you find anything that helped? Would love to hear your experiences! ❤️

My Boy just turned 2 in September, my concern is that he still doesn't have any clear words, he points and gestures like hands me his empty bottle or grabs things he wants but doesn't verbally say anything... His hearing is fine I know that, he barely gets screen time either and I am trying my hardest to verbalize everything I do or repeat words when he wants something.. anybody else got this problem or advice?🫠

My LO had her 15 month ped appt and her ped said she should be saying 8-10 words…she is referring us to a speech therapist because she only says around 4-5 words (she babbles like crazy tho). FTM - should I be concerned? I thought every baby is different and develops speech at their own pace? Anyone in the same boat?

Any tips for getting my 9 month old to sleep through the night? He’s sleep trained and falls asleep independently, but still wakes up 3–4 times a night. What worked for you?

What dummies are we using for breastfed babies? My baby won’t take Tommee Tippee or MAM ones 😩
