Work struggles

Anyone else just absolutely hating working at the moment? I feel so intolerant of it and am counting down the days until I can go on maternity leave. I work as a nurse prescriber in an ADHD service and I have ADHD myself (stopped my ADHD meds when I got pregnant) and now I just can’t stand the thought of working 🤣 I dread the weekdays so much!!! Feel so fatigued, struggling with sleep and just generally uncomfortable (I’m 27 weeks today). ❤️

Feel like you’ve just explained me here.
I can’t stand it. I sit there staring at the screen and don’t want to do a thing. I’ve recently been diagnosed with ADHD but wasn’t able to start meds. I just feel so restless all the time.

I definitely feel like WFH is not good for my ADHD. I get so fed up with work that I then start getting really down and then I just start spiralling that I don’t want to do anything. It’s definitely gotten worse over the last two weeks. I think I’m the same. Like nothing at work is important. Then the bloody impulsiveness of constantly looking at baby stuff and overthinking everything x

I‘m the same, I can‘t wait to go on mat leave. Work is really challenging at the moment and I struggle to regulate myself in the evenings while being with my 3 year old, when I‘m so tired, uncomfortable in my body and mentally exhausted.

Recovery

I’m due for my elective section in a weeks time at 40+3.

This is my first baby and after dreaming of a unmedicated vaginal birth, an induction is needed due to low Papp-a and this week i’ve finally chosen an elective section over induction for a few reasons (mostly mental and to have a good experience).

Firstly, what would you recommend? I completely understand healing/recovery is so much harder with a section but I think I’m willing to risk the physical impact than the mental impact of emergency/induction.

Secondly, recovery tips please! I have an extremely supportive partner who will make sure I do everything by the book to recover✨

The waaaaaaait 🫠

How are you ladies surviving between scans? I’ve had a few private ones but a few days after having one I’m again going crazy in my head wondering if everything is ok and how am I not supposed to know for another ‘x’ amount of weeks!! Had a scan last Thursday and everything was perfect and we were told we are having a baby girl.. but I just wish there was a way to check in with them every day 😅 especially since I’m not feeling anything yet..

Any thoughts welcome from first timers or those that have managed this crazy phase before 🫶🏼

I have been sleeping on my sides as per recommendations but every night throughout the night I wake up multiple times because my hips feel like they’re bruised from laying on them. I have a pregnancy pillow and whilst it is comfortable I feel like it’s doing nothing?! Any recs would be great please

1st Birthday Party?!

For anyone that has a little one with a birthday between Christmas and New Year, are you having a birthday party? Or are you doing something different to celebrate?
I’m really struggling with whether we should do a party for our little one and whether anyone would be able to come, his birthday is on 28/12, so would be looking at either the day before or the weekends either side of Christmas. I’m so torn 😩
