I’m due for my elective section in a weeks time at 40+3.
This is my first baby and after dreaming of a unmedicated vaginal birth, an induction is needed due to low Papp-a and this week i’ve finally chosen an elective section over induction for a few reasons (mostly mental and to have a good experience).
Firstly, what would you recommend? I completely understand healing/recovery is so much harder with a section but I think I’m willing to risk the physical impact than the mental impact of emergency/induction.
Secondly, recovery tips please! I have an extremely supportive partner who will make sure I do everything by the book to recover✨

More context - my cervix is still tilted, too high and fully closed! So if I get induced it’ll be a multi day process of trying to ripen my cervix first!

I know this is super personal but honestly, I didn’t find the recovery from a c-section nowhere near as bad as I expected! My main tip is to rest more than you think you need to rest, and when you feel ready to start doing things around the house, do not do it and wait a few more days! Also keep on top of your meds even when you think you don’t need them anymore.
I ate very well as well during my recovery which I believe had a huge impact on how fast I healed, lots of nutritious meals, bone broth, lots of iron, protein (helps heal the incision), zinc, fibre and lots and lots of healthy fats!!! Honestly I cannot stress enough how diet influences your recovery! X

I just had my second c section 7 months ago and slow regular movements was the best recovery tool for me.
The midwifes had me up and walking within 4 hours of my operation and my catheter removed. I was up and back to normal within 2 weeks this time round. X

The first time you stand up after a c section is the worst, but it really does get better from there. Keep on top of your pain medication and rest as much as you can, even if you feel like you can do more. My partner was handing me the baby to feed and he did all the nappy changes. Don't rush to have visitors if you don't want to and if you are breastfeeding, you can do it rugby ball style which takes pressure off your scar. Plenty of snacks!! You are hungry all the time when breastfeeding. P.s it was the most magical experience in the world ❤️❤️ Good luck x x

I had an emergency c section under general anaesthetic. If I’d known a c section was likely to happen I would’ve opted for one as an emergency one mentally isn’t a nice experience at all xx
Is it true if it says 1-2 weeks you’re probably 3-4 weeks pregnant?

I was just taken to the hospital by ambulance early this morning. I have never been in so much pain in my life. I woke up out of dead sleep to feeling like I was getting stabbed in my upper center stomach and someone was twisting the knife. I was screaming and throwing up and nothing was helping I couldn’t even get in the car for my fiancee to drive me so ems and cops had to come. They ended up giving me a low dose of fentanyl and it helped me so much. We did blood tests urine tests ultrasounds on my liver and gallbladder all for them to say “he must of just kicked you hard”. I’m 32 weeks pregnant and been feeling him kick me since 16 weeks. This was not that. I felt so dismissed something felt wrong I wasn’t hoping for something to be wrong but at least I would have gotten an answer to what caused me to be in that much pain. I feel okay now I’ve been sleeping all day but am so sore tired and scared it’s going to happen again. It was constant pain so wasn’t contractions. I just feel so defeated and can’t wait to never be pregnant again for the rest of my life.

I have been sleeping on my sides as per recommendations but every night throughout the night I wake up multiple times because my hips feel like they’re bruised from laying on them. I have a pregnancy pillow and whilst it is comfortable I feel like it’s doing nothing?! Any recs would be great please

Hey everyone!
I’m currently 2 weeks post second section and am having a horrendous time. I just want to see what other people’s experiences were with their recovery second time around. My BP is spiking I’ve been in and out of hospital and then I have a wound infection and am currently taking antibiotics. Just feeling a tad lonely atm only so much my partner can understand, although he has been amazing!
Share away please ❤️❤️
