7 HOURS!

I'm SOO worried. I am exclusively breastfeeding my son who will be 6 weeks old on Saturday. He feeds every 3 hours usually (I set an alarm through the day and night but also feed whenever he shows hunger cues).
My phone died in the night and my alarm didn't go off and he's gone 7 hours without a feed. He woke and fed normally for half an hour but I'm worrying. He's never been that long without a feed before.
I contacted my maternity ward and she didn't seem worried but I'm wondering now whether I need to feed every 2 hours instead of 3 to ensure he has enough feeds in 24 hours.
Sorry for the LONGGGGG post!

I would say No, just feed on demand. If he was very hungry he would have woken up during them 7hrs.

You don’t need to wake him for feeds as long as he’s back at birth weight and as long as you haven’t been advised by healthcare professionals to make sure he feeds that often for whatever reason x

My babe is about a week older than yours and we sleep 6-7 hours every night for his “big sleep”, usually from about 8-3... that said after that his on demand is every 2-3 hours. Our pediatrician said it’s fine but he will probably be more hungry during the day

I had exactly the same with my first. I asked every midwife/doctor I came into contact with about it and everyone told me it's absolutely fine and to enjoy it!
I also did the alarm thing and started to set bigger intervals between alarms to get myself more used to letting her sleep. At 6 weeks, he should really know by now when he's hungry, and I assume he's well past his birth weight :)

You don't need to set an alarm at this point! Just feed when he's hungry, if he's sleeping, he's not hungry 😊

As long as he's back up to his birth weight then you really don't need to set alarms anymore, just feed on demand, if he sleeps in longer stretches it just means he's not hungry.

Could this be tongue tie...?

I got my 5 month old weighed the other day and she has only put 1lb 4oz on between 30/07 and 13/10. My health visitor keeps dismissing me and telling me not to worry as she "was never a big girl anyway" (she was born 29 May at 8.5lbs/81st centile, and has dropped to the 5th centile at 11lb15oz?!)

She's always had long and frequent feeds, which because I know no different I didn't think was odd, obviously slow weight gain, I maybe have a slight lipstick nipple when she unlatches, and occasionally she pulls off frustrated and then latches back on. No other symptoms that I have picked up on, and all the midwives told me she had a good latch and was feeding well, so it's not even occurred to me until her new weigh in that there may be something wrong!

My question is, is there anything other symptoms I need to look out for? Did anyone's baby turn out to have tongue tie with similar/less symptoms than usual (no pain etc)
How hard was it to get help?

My GP has also said that tongue tie is so over diagnosed these days, so I am wanting to go in with ammo if I need it😅

How do you manage sexy time?

Hey there, I have a pretty embarassing question: how do you manage to have sex? 😅
I'm a FTM of an 8 months old and her sleep is really restless. We do not have any family living nearby to take her on a walk to get some time alone.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated :D

Sleep

Has anyone got advice on how to put an awake baby down for a nap without using the boob? My baby’s four weeks and only goes down for a sleep when feeding but I’m scared this is going to create a bad habit

Night screaming hunger

My baby boy is just waking up screaming every three hours in the night for a bottle. We usually gives him a bottle and it settles him straight away. But both me and the partner can’t handle the screams. There is no movement or noise before the scream so I can’t prepare him a bottle fast enough (we use a prep machine). He is teething but we’re doing all we can. I’ve tried not feeding him and just rocking shushing and giving him a dummy but he screams until he gets a bottle. We’ve also started feeding him purees. Any advice and tips would be appreciated.

Obsession over naps and schedules

Is anyone getting a bit anxious/ obsessive about nap times and feeding times etc? I find that I am avoiding doing things because I don’t want to mess with when she will sleep (4 months old). I just know my day (and hers) go so much better when she is in a rhythm. When she is overtired everything goes out of whack and she’s really difficult. It’s awful when we are out and she won’t sleep and won’t eat (too distracted) and just completely loses it 😔. I don’t want to be someone who won’t leave the house or say ‘sorry can’t that’s nap time’ but I feel like I am 😔 anyone else the same? Any advice on how to chill out a bit? 😔
