Obsession over naps and schedules

Is anyone getting a bit anxious/ obsessive about nap times and feeding times etc? I find that I am avoiding doing things because I don’t want to mess with when she will sleep (4 months old). I just know my day (and hers) go so much better when she is in a rhythm. When she is overtired everything goes out of whack and she’s really difficult. It’s awful when we are out and she won’t sleep and won’t eat (too distracted) and just completely loses it 😔. I don’t want to be someone who won’t leave the house or say ‘sorry can’t that’s nap time’ but I feel like I am 😔 anyone else the same? Any advice on how to chill out a bit? 😔

Same 100% 🫣🫡 my life now revolves around her schedule. I know its unsustainable but shes so happy.

I totally understand that it can be easier to stay home and keep routine, because when we go out routine goes out the window, but id perhaps just try and have a loose routine. So if your going out plan the car journey or walk there for one of her naps and perhaps the car journey / pram walk back for another one. If she refuses to nap perhaps try rocking/ walking with her instead of in the pram.
I’d also maybe look into a snoozeshade if she’s too busy looking as this just blocks the outside world out and might help her doze off (if you put white noise on too) x

I honestly respect my LO’s schedule so much because I’m scared of him but that doesn’t keep me from doing things. If I have to go out I pick the time he’s just woken up from his nap so I know I have time to change him and get him ready to go out before his next nap. Then he sleeps when we’re outside. Or if I have to do things in the house I do them while he’s awake playing (usually about 20min) or when he goes to sleep at night. If I mess up with his sleep we’re cooked so I just work around his schedule

I really get how you feel about this - it’s so tough. I try and do some days during the week where I stay in more and focus on naps and feeding and keeping my baby’s mood as good as I can, and a few days a week where I plan fun things out and just (to an extent) let it go. TBH Ive realised I enjoy those days where I let it go more, even if my baby is a bit moody or doesn’t sleep as well on the night. Really focussing on how I feel at the end of the day and whether I’ve enjoyed the day has helped me get some perspective. But even second time round I struggle with it!

What is this?

Hi! I got this bathtub for my two month old off Amazon and recently it's been leaving like this rust looking marks behind on the insert for it. What is it and what bathtub would you recommend? More pics of it in the comments

Worried about something going wrong!

Am I the only one that has anxiety when left at home all day with my 3 month old when my other half is in the office? He wfh 3 days a week, and my anxiety is minimal when he is home. I constantly find myself watching videos on how to do CPR or what to do when he chokes on something now that he has the ability to hold things albeit still learning and im not leaving anything within reach of him swallowing anything he shouldn't. Is it because its right bang in the middle for potential of SIDS and will the anxiety ease up as he gets closer to the age of 1? Anyone else feeling the same?

Babies with colic and silent reflux

I am a first-time mum with a nearly a week old baby girl we found out two weeks but she had colic and silent reflux!

Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, how are you coping? What are we doing? As we have done everything you could think that we’ve also been told to do😢

Night time nappies

My son is 5 in February, and currently still in night time nappies. He's been out of day nappies since he was 3 and a bit. Still an occasional accident or "forgetting" he needs to go, but 9/10 he's there no problem.

He takes himself to the loo when he wakes up in the morning usually - but then puts the old nappy back on 🙈 I had hoped to be able to try no night time nappies before he went to school in September, but with our second born arriving mid September it just didn't work out. And in any case, his night time nappy is still soaked every morning, there's no way I could take the nappy away yet.

My mom and MIL keep going on that we were out of nappies fully by 3 - but I just can't see how to get there!!

What's everyone else doing?!

Could this be tongue tie...?

I got my 5 month old weighed the other day and she has only put 1lb 4oz on between 30/07 and 13/10. My health visitor keeps dismissing me and telling me not to worry as she "was never a big girl anyway" (she was born 29 May at 8.5lbs/81st centile, and has dropped to the 5th centile at 11lb15oz?!)

She's always had long and frequent feeds, which because I know no different I didn't think was odd, obviously slow weight gain, I maybe have a slight lipstick nipple when she unlatches, and occasionally she pulls off frustrated and then latches back on. No other symptoms that I have picked up on, and all the midwives told me she had a good latch and was feeding well, so it's not even occurred to me until her new weigh in that there may be something wrong!

My question is, is there anything other symptoms I need to look out for? Did anyone's baby turn out to have tongue tie with similar/less symptoms than usual (no pain etc)
How hard was it to get help?

My GP has also said that tongue tie is so over diagnosed these days, so I am wanting to go in with ammo if I need it😅
