Anxiety

Having such a wobble tonight. I’m 19 weeks tomorrow and haven’t properly felt baby move yet. Sometimes I think I do, but nothing proper yet. How do you make it through to each scan without becoming anxious and worried?! I am living in fear that something is wrong🥲

I am in exactly the same boat.19 weeks and haven't felt anything yet. Sometimes I think I can but I'm not sure. This is baby no. 2 for me and for both I have had my placenta at the front, which can make feeling the movement harder. Do you know if you have the same?

That's annoyingly confusing for you. Sorry hun. I hope you do too. It is apparently "normal" to not feel yet but that doesn't make it easier.

i didn’t feel anything until 21 weeks! i had my 20 week scan and found out i had an anterior placenta which is why i felt kicks a little later - but now i feel her kicking every day!

I didn’t feel anything at 19 weeks and it’s my 3rd. My 20 week scan confirmed I have an anterior placenta. I’m 22 weeks tomorrow and can feel slight kicks in the evening when I’m sitting still xx

Hospital stay

First time mum here and I just want to know, how many days on average do you stay in the hospital for after birth? For both vaginal and c-section

Son not invited to party

I meet another single mum on mat leave and we kept in contact, kids going to the same nursery etc.

It was her little ones 3rd birth day so
I wished him happy birthday on what’s app. I only knew as she put it as a status.

She then messaged back with all the parties he’s having…. So I clarified if my little one wasn’t invited (I kinda don’t know why she was telling me as I didn’t ask).

She said no he wasn’t. I said no worries.
I told her I was hurt as I thought we were closer and that our kids did play together etc…. And she didn’t acknowledge my hurt feels but was just more practical saying she just wanted a smaller party.

Things haven’t been the same since and I don’t bother to message her etc but to be honest I was finding her behaviour a little odd anyway.

It’s now my son’s birthday, would it be ok if I invite her son or are they not close so I don’t bother?

I’m getting nowhere with nursery and his close friend has recently left for another nursery so I’m a bit lost.

Weaning

My daughter was born 3 weeks earlier than her due date due to a low lying placenta, she’s not quite sitting up on her own just yet, do you think we need to wait before weaning her? She’s got good head control but just can’t sit unaided just yet.

Urine samples at midwife appts

Are you all doing a urine sample at every appointment? I had my 25 week appt today and I wasn’t asked for one despite mentioning having issues with an achey bladder and trouble emptying it at times. I haven’t done one since my first appt at 9 weeks!

In my first pregnancy (same midwife team, same place etc) I did it religious EVERY time I saw anyone, even when I went in to triage for reduced movements for example. Just feels a bit weird especially as they put on my notes that it has been done.

Does it bother anyone else that your baby doesn’t kick when you’re moving around a lot?

Does it make anyone else paranoid when your baby doesn’t move? Like I get it, I’ve heard so many people, my mom included always say “my baby was fine while I was working but as soon as I got home they’d start kicking like crazy” and I always laughed, but now I’m like- how did that not make your anxiety spike every time? Maybe it’s just because this is my first baby, but those kicks are like a security blanket to me especially since I’m at 19 weeks, it tells me he’s ok. When I don’t feel those kicks for 8 hours because I’m working I have to talk myself down from worrying.
