First time mum here and I just want to know, how many days on average do you stay in the hospital for after birth? For both vaginal and c-section

I had a c section and I stayed 24 hours. I was discharged once I had done two big wee’s once the catheter had been removed x

24 h natural birth

I was admitted at 10am for a spontaneous natural birth and let home by 4pm the following day

I had a forceps delivery with an episiotomy and had a bit of a temperature after delivery and needed IV antibiotics so I was in the hospital from around 1am Thursday morning until nearly midnight Saturday.

Definitely 24 hours for a Csection. Out the next day.

3 days, things could not go as expected for both you and baby, pack extras. Good luck 🙏🏻

All depends on what goes on during the birth and after the birth with you & baby. Always pack extras. I was induced on the Wednesday, had my baby on the Friday and was discharged on the Monday so was almost in hospital for a week so you never know. I had a vaginal birth.

I was out around 16 hours after my emergency c section 💀😂 x

I had an emergency c section at 2am on the 22nd and left the 23rd at 3pm so about 37 hours post c section. Baby pooped inside me and had to have the special mecconium observations for 12ish hours and wasn't allowed to leave until I peed enough or I would've been out earlier 🙃 (started induction on the 20th 🫠)
If you drive/a car of yours or your partner/family will be in the hospital car park you could pack 2 bags. One with the birth and 1/2 day essentials and then another bag that stays in the car with extras just in case.

I had an emergency section at 4pm on the Saturday and was discharged 9pm on the Monday. Had to stay a little longer as baby was having trouble with feeding. Was re admitted on the Wednesday due to a post dural puncture headache! So always expect the unexpected!

Emergency c section with complications- 10 days stay.

I had packed for 3 days worth of bits for me and baby as I’m very cautious, and had a second bag in the boot of the car with extras just in case which was very helpful.
If you don’t have a car then could just have another bag at home ready so you don’t have to rely on someone else to find what you want/need.

Perineal massage

Does anyone actually do the perineal massage? I’m 37 weeks and 3 days and to be honest, I’m struggling to get it done. I find it uncomfortable and when it comes to doing it after a bath/ shower, I just want to settle down and relax rather than do that 🥲 I obviously don’t want to have a bad tear either if I manage to have a vaginal birth. What are everyone’s thoughts?

Moderate placenta risk? Anyone else?

So I had my 16 week midwife appointment today and she told me I needed to have 2 extra scans as I have a moderate placenta risk which was news to me 😩

This is my second pregnancy, first was twins I had scans every 4 weeks with them bur don’t remember them ever saying this with them. No history of preeclampsia in the family, BMI was ok at first appointment . 12 week scan they said everything was all good.
Midwife didn’t seem to know why… the only thing I can think of is my previous c-section with the twins or the fact I’m 33 and am an ex smoker/vaper however before this pregnancy I was only a light vaper… it surprised me a bit.
has anyone else had this?

Son not invited to party

I meet another single mum on mat leave and we kept in contact, kids going to the same nursery etc.

It was her little ones 3rd birth day so
I wished him happy birthday on what’s app. I only knew as she put it as a status.

She then messaged back with all the parties he’s having…. So I clarified if my little one wasn’t invited (I kinda don’t know why she was telling me as I didn’t ask).

She said no he wasn’t. I said no worries.
I told her I was hurt as I thought we were closer and that our kids did play together etc…. And she didn’t acknowledge my hurt feels but was just more practical saying she just wanted a smaller party.

Things haven’t been the same since and I don’t bother to message her etc but to be honest I was finding her behaviour a little odd anyway.

It’s now my son’s birthday, would it be ok if I invite her son or are they not close so I don’t bother?

I’m getting nowhere with nursery and his close friend has recently left for another nursery so I’m a bit lost.

Weaning

My daughter was born 3 weeks earlier than her due date due to a low lying placenta, she’s not quite sitting up on her own just yet, do you think we need to wait before weaning her? She’s got good head control but just can’t sit unaided just yet.
