Distract me/keep me company through contractions

I am having a rough night. Been contracting on and off for 2 hours. Just started timing them and having some water before I bug my midwife. I'm only 30 weeks and panicking a little. So what's everyone up to tonight? I'm watching early Grey's Anatomy -- love me some Jeffrey Dean Morgan!

heyyyy i’m in the uk so it’s 4am and im feeding baby eating some jammy dodgers🤣🤣🤣

also currently up feeding my baby wish i’d put my laptop on to watch something 😭

I’m just lying here wide awake. Can’t even blame baby because she’s flat out 🙈

Also watching greys!! Well kinda... right now im putting baby back to sleep. Hes sick so its going to be a looong night over here

Just remember how happy you'll be once little one is out. Also, try squeezing something sharpish in your hand like keys. As well as focus on breathing deeply. Supposedly if you push with your breathing when giving birth vs actually pushing pushing it helps in not tearing you. You got this mama! Home stretch!

Hospital stay

First time mum here and I just want to know, how many days on average do you stay in the hospital for after birth? For both vaginal and c-section

Son not invited to party

I meet another single mum on mat leave and we kept in contact, kids going to the same nursery etc.

It was her little ones 3rd birth day so
I wished him happy birthday on what’s app. I only knew as she put it as a status.

She then messaged back with all the parties he’s having…. So I clarified if my little one wasn’t invited (I kinda don’t know why she was telling me as I didn’t ask).

She said no he wasn’t. I said no worries.
I told her I was hurt as I thought we were closer and that our kids did play together etc…. And she didn’t acknowledge my hurt feels but was just more practical saying she just wanted a smaller party.

Things haven’t been the same since and I don’t bother to message her etc but to be honest I was finding her behaviour a little odd anyway.

It’s now my son’s birthday, would it be ok if I invite her son or are they not close so I don’t bother?

I’m getting nowhere with nursery and his close friend has recently left for another nursery so I’m a bit lost.

Weaning

My daughter was born 3 weeks earlier than her due date due to a low lying placenta, she’s not quite sitting up on her own just yet, do you think we need to wait before weaning her? She’s got good head control but just can’t sit unaided just yet.

Urine samples at midwife appts

Are you all doing a urine sample at every appointment? I had my 25 week appt today and I wasn’t asked for one despite mentioning having issues with an achey bladder and trouble emptying it at times. I haven’t done one since my first appt at 9 weeks!

In my first pregnancy (same midwife team, same place etc) I did it religious EVERY time I saw anyone, even when I went in to triage for reduced movements for example. Just feels a bit weird especially as they put on my notes that it has been done.
