Feel like I know nothing

Anyone else just feel out of the loop with their pregnancy?
My first was born in 2021 and even with all the COVID restrictions I felt like I saw the midwife a lot more, got told what percentile baby was measuring at 20 week scan, had the red book with all baby's info in and got updates on positioning/size at midwife appointments.
This time I have literally spoke to a midwife twice and I'm 26 weeks, had both my NHS scans but yet have no paperwork, there is next to no information on the badger notes app and I know nothing about baby's size ect.

Is this the norm now or is there something I'm missing?

I feel the exact same! I had my first in 2023 and my hospital used a different app for notes back then, and you’d be able to see so much - baby charts for size, a breakdown of all test results, notes from appointments etc. this time round I know nothing, the new app literally just says when you have an appointment with absolutely no detail, no record of things you’ve spoken about, nothing. I loved learning and reading back through it but this time feels so different.

I'm in the exact same boat.
Had my daughter in 2021. And currently 26 weeks pregnant. Not had much info at all.

I have all my notes on a red book still, after both my scans they printed out like a summary of everything and added it there which has lol the weight info etc. But I don't have access to this badger app everyone talks about.

Sounds like they've not updated your badger app? Maybe bring that up next time.

In terms of appointments I have had booking appt, one at 16 weeks and got one at 25weeks coming up. My understanding is for the first pregnancy they get more regular after the 25 weeks.

Also as per NHS guidelines you do have more appointments with first pregnancy than with pregnancies after that

Like Sylvia has said, with second and subsequent low risk pregnancies, appts are less unless you’ve organised otherwise.
Ask your midwife to make sure things are up to date on your badger app. I am a midwife and used to use the badger system and sometimes it’s something as simple as a button not pressed at my end that stops the woman seeing notes etc. Don’t be scared to ask!

With my first (Oct 2025) we still had the paper notes here and I loved looking through them and reading all his information this time it feels so wrong not having all the updates I've seen the midwife twice and not due to see her again til December

Ideal party time? (Help please)

I am trying to plan my daughter’s birthday party for when she turns 2. The play area I want to book offers 1 hour 45 min slots at either 13:30 or 15:45. There will be children mainly around the age of 2, but others ages 1-3 as well. I know nap times will vary, and most live less than 30 mins away. Which time do you all think sounds preferable?

Positive induction stories

Hi everyone! I’m currently 37+2 and getting induced in 2 days time due to recurrent reduced fetal movement. Hoping to hear some positive induction stories of anyone who’s gone through it before? I was hoping to be able to go naturally before then, but midwife couldn’t do a sweep today as not even 1cm 😭

How are you getting on with your partner?

I feel at constant loggerheads at the moment, all we do is argue and get angry each other. It’s completely down to sleep deprivation and stress but this doesn’t make it any easier when thinking about it. Just want things to go back to normal.

Scan at 5 weeks 4 days help!

I’ve had a reassurance scan today as have had previous losses but only a sac and yolk could be seen…
The lady was quite harsh and just rebooked me for 2 weeks time

Googling seems to say this is right until the 6 week mark?!

Anyone been here before?!

Little boy is here via induction

Hi, moms! My little one is here! He was born on October 26, though he was due on October 31. I was induced because of gestational diabetes.

The induction was successful, but it was brutal. I spent about three days in the hospital starting labor from zero.

Besides the gestational diabetes, my little pumpkin is small… He’s 5 lbs. 13 oz., but he’s a healthy, tough little guy. I am
So in love with him. 💙👶🍼

Good luck for all the October mommas!!
