Help, sleep deprived and full of cold!

We have a 2.5 week old. Both my husband and me are full of cold and now our Daughter is. Last night I managed 4.5/5hours sleep (4 hours being from 11:30pm till 3:30pm). Tonight she is only contact sleeping on our chests. I really need her to sleep in her “next to me” but she will not settle. I’m scared of falling asleep with her on me. She’s only settling either on her side or on her tummy. What can I do? Would you sleep with her on you and just make sure you’re propped up by pillows or do you have any tips/tricks to get her to sleep in her cot?

Hey,
the Vicks humidifier (with the scent pads taken out) from Argos and saline nasal spray, the one with the picture of the dolphin and a snot sucker helped our 3 week old twin babies with congestion and boogers.

I lay my son on his side, making sure his arm is out in front of him so it makes it hard for him to roll on his front and he seems more settled that way.

Another thing, the twins didn’t like the next to me because the mattresses were cold so try putting a hot water bottle on it to warm it up.

Just some tips that worked for us! Take the advice you’ve learnt from health visitors and the hospital but you know what’s best for your baby xx

Safe chest sleeping is possible. Happy co sleeper on Instagram has a how to guide. Avoid lots of pillows, just a couple behind your back. Ale sure the bed is otherwise empty so that if she rolls off your chest there's no hazzards

Great advise above. Its completely normal and instinctive your baby wants that closeness while she's poorly, I know you need rest too. With my daughter she slept like this and although health visitors won't reccomend sleeping with her on you I think instinctively most parents I know have done it, as a mother lean into your instincts and intuition as you are, theres part of you that doesn't fully switch off when baby goes to sleep now, you'll be surprised even when your shattered how you will wake up at the slightest thing. Also, this will pass and once shes better you can continue to work on her routine and working with your partner to take it in turns to settle her x

Owh and definitely don’t let her sleep between you and ur husband… just buy a bed rail put it on ur side and put the baby still next to you

Advice! Blood in babies poo!

Looking for advice!!!!

Hi, I’m looking for advice and wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar.

My little girl is 14 weeks old and exclusively breastfed. She went 3 days without pooing, during which she was straining a lot and screaming in pain when trying to go. I tried belly and foot massages, and eventually, on day 3 (Tuesday), she managed to go. She completely filled her nappy and then went another 6 times that day, 4 of which contained fresh red blood.

On Wednesday, she pooed another 5 times, with blood in one of them. I took her to the doctors, who said blood in babies’ poo can sometimes be normal. Doctor said she looked well, she also had no temperature or vomiting, and they didn’t suspect an infection, but sent off a stool sample to rule it out. This has since come back negative.

Yesterday she seemed more settled but wasn’t feeding properly, frequently unlatching. I also pump twice a day, so I tried offering expressed milk in a bottle, but she wouldn’t take that either.

Today has been much the same. She’s been really unsettled, still not feeding properly from either breast or bottle, skipping feeds completely or latching and unlatching constantly. This morning she was screaming in pain, then pooed and settled a little. However, this evening she’s had another small poo with some blood in it. Her poo has also been really mucusy, almost like snot.

I’m planning to take her back to the doctors on Monday, unless she gets worse or things continue like this tomorrow the I will take her to hospital.

I’m already struggling with postnatal anxiety, so this has been really worrying me. Has anyone else’s baby experienced anything similar?

She’s had plenty of wet nappies but despite this I’m still concerned as she’s not feeding good at all.

Also not sure if it’s linked but the other night 3.5 hours after a feed, whilst she was sleeping she started choking/gargling really quietly, I picked her up, patted her back and it resolved but no sick or anything came out.

Sorry for the long post and the pics, just desperate for advice.

Toddlers when outdoor - control?

Hello,

Does anyone else’s toddler want to roam free without holding your hand when in public. I.e outdoors/ shopping centres etc. mine refuses to hold my hand and when in the pram will literally scream and continue screaming even if it’s for a full 30 minutes straight. Oh boy, the stares I get are unbearable and make me feel like I’m a shit mum. I have no idea how to help her or with this situ. Any advice or tips greatly appreciated.

Nappy Cream

My daughter’s nursery have requested we keep a nappy cream in their bag that doesn’t contain any nut oil (I usually use bepanthen but that contains almond oil so isn’t allowed). Any recommendations, don’t want sudocream

My husband affects my mental health

I do my best to have patience and manage the person he is. It’s tough but lately it’s just been very stressful. Anything I ask of him he responds something that I did or didn’t do. Our arguments lately he brings up my parents and their flaws and how I am with my parents. Is that okay??

At wits end with 12 week old

Nights are hell. Eg we started trying to put him to sleep at 8:30 and he slept at 11pm (yday was midnight) Bear IN MIND WE COSLEEP SO IMAGINE IF WE DIDNT. he woke up at 12 so only slept 1h and we’ve been trying to put him down ever since. It’s now 2:30. We’re both in pain from rocking him for hours and exhausted. Health issues are covered. Doesn’t have cmpa- trialled already. Has reflux - on gaviscon and omeprazole. We want to give up. Don’t know what to do anymore.

Milk supply dropping!

Hey girlies!!💖💖

Has anyone else had issues with there milk supply dropping around the 5 month mark? I’ve never been someone who has a good supply but could always do about 4oz in about a 15 minute pump to this last week barely making 2oz!

Any advice? What have you done to boost your supply or is this the end of my breastfeeding journey?

( I mainly exclusively breastfeed. But occasionally use formula if I haven’t pumped enough for the nighttime bottle) 🍼

Thankyou💖💖💖
