Bedtime routines

When did you start implementing a proper bedtime routine?
Baby is 11 weeks, currently he goes down in the living room, either in his Moses basket or on me, about 6/7ish. Then we take him up to the next to me in our room, when we go to bed later. He usually stays asleep or I breastfeed him back to sleep if he’s hungry.
Does it matter he’s going to sleep in the evening in the living room, with us holding/rocking him? Should we be starting a proper bedtime routine in his cot where it’s quiet, so he learns to go down on his own?
I’m worried we’re creating habits that will be difficult as he gets older, but I don’t know how else you’d do it without going to bed myself crazy early!

We’re starting too, baby is 11 weeks! We will put him in his bedside cot between 8-9pm and put the camera on. He uses a dummy to settle himself and we gentle pat him if he’s not settling

Ive been wondering this too, although I think just setting the foundations for future routines might be better..

Whatever routine we put them in now will go out the window come the 4 month regression, so I think building on their settling methods and such might be best rather than focusing on the timings of things if that makes sense?

Just do whatever works best for your household, if this works for you now then carry on xx

We have from few weeks old (3rd baby) i have been goin bed early but baby is in moses basket unless feeding. I go to bed early because i get up early whether im up in the night or not. But i can go 2 full days with no sleep sometimes no matter how tired i am, 1 of the 3 will have me up 😂 plus once im awake im awake.

Bedtimes are easier now he has routine, if he isnt in the bedroom at bedtime hes not happy lol x

They're not supposed to be in the room on their own under 6 months so the moses basket is fine. My daughter is 10 weeks tomorrow but I have a 4 year old too and theyre incredibly different despite us doing the same kind of thing so im not sure i believe in the creating habits thing anymore I think our babies decide for themselves 🤣 they said i have heard that its best to be baby led for the first 4-6 months and only after that should you start trying with sleep training etc

Bath times-how many times a week

So I need to ask how many times do I need to bathe my baby, I usually do it three times a week, I did her last night and will have a bath on Tuesday night, it's mainly a shower with mum as I can't access the bath at the moment but I am 100% safe with her in there but I found if I did it with her she sleeps better, she's five months old.
I usually strip her off, get into the shower and use an old mam bottle to pour water over her, wash her hair and body, gently and carefully, I use a muzzy to help hold her, then I dry her and put on lotion that for nights, like Nalas oil, which is amazing and smells divine. But should I be doing it more or not

My 1 year old freaking me out

On days when it's just us at home and I'm bathing him, I leave the bathroom door open and this lil boy looks right over my shoulder as if he's glancing at someone but no one but us be at home!!!! He's been doing it for months and I've convinced myself he's just looking around but he's look looks like someone/something catches his eye and I just pray in my head to be casting out any spirit that shouldn't be in this house. Pray for us - sincerely 🙏

3 under 4

Anyone had 3 kids under the age of 4? How do/did you manage??
I have a 3yr old, 18 month old and almost 4 week old. Partner went back to work this week and I feel like ive just struggled the whole time. 3yr old is mega defiant at the moment and just screams at me if I tell her off for something. 18 month old is very hit and miss with his naps at the moment. Like he's been up since 5.30am, tried putting him down for a nap earlier and he just screamed and screamed and screamed so aborted the nap, tried a 2nd time and he napped all of 10mins before awake and screaming again. 4 week old generally been fine but extra fussy the last couple of days and its hard to get her to sleep today 🤦‍♀️ i feel like a really shit mum at the moment. I can't get out with them as car is being fixed at the garage currently and the new pram ive ordered still hasnt arrived as its been on backorder. Ive also ordered a baby carrier to hopefully help. If anyone has any words of encouragement or any tips id be very grateful. I have cried so much this week to my partner because I feel like im failing 🙃

Milestones

Where is your little one with their milestones/ development?

My son is 6 months in 11 days and still hasn’t rolled over from back to tummy, he’s done tummy to back at most a couple of times but no matter what I do to help and encourage him to roll there is nothing he doesn’t seem bothered.

Don’t want to be one for comparing kids but when my daughter was at his age she was crawling, fully aware all kids develop differently and do things in their own time but being nearly 6 months and not bothered about rolling is this something to be concerned about??

First period

Hello! So I’m first time mum, 6 weeks 4 days pp and also exclusively breast feed. Is it normal that I haven’t had my first period yet? I know because I breast feed that it can be delayed but just wondering how long others waited before it arrived. Feel anxious about the first one 🙈
Thanks :)

Wake period

If I put my baby to sleep and they then wake up 20 mins later crying so I pick them up and and they sleep straight away, does the wake period restart from the minute I picked them up ?
