I'm 2 weeks pp and my anxiety is through the roof. I ve always been the logical one, calm and rationale. But since bringing my little boy home I have been extremely anxious. My anxiety is mainly that something will happen to him; bed time is horrific because I m dreading closing my eyes.
I dont feel depressed just anxious.
Im hoping im not alone and that someone has some advice to ease those feelings.

This is really normal this early on, it's awful and if the intrusive thoughts or anxiety continue definitely seek some help from the health visiting team...but it is very normal to feel this way and it should pass xxx

I just want to add to the comment above, I felt exactly the same with my first. The physical feelings the anxiety caused were also awful. I just want to say it will get better, I promise. If you feel that you need to speak to someone reach out. I was very close to going on some anti anxiety medication but by about 6/7 weeks things started to settle and I could see a way through. You’re not alone xxxx

Oh gosh I’ve been the same. I’m nearly 3 weeks PP and certainly got the first 1.5 weeks I felt exactly the same.
Things have started to ease off once I was getting out the house and taking baby in the pram, car etc.
My advice is use the help around you, my midwives and health visitor both offered wellbeing visitors to chat to and continued support if I felt I needed it.
My other advice, which had mixed reviews, but for bedtime is to get an Owlet sock. They are expensive but were brought one when I was pregnant for exactly that reason.. enabling us to sleep without worrying every time we nodded of or baby seemed quiet. Its been a god send for us and has been the time I was least anxious.
Please feel free to reach out to me privately if you wish to chat more xx

I’ve only been out once around day 10 with Baby for a check up at the clinic which was fine but we haven’t done anything else yet and coming up for 3 weeks? Anyone got any advice on when and how to start taking Babies out? Especially living in rainy winter weather

My son is 14 months old. He's ALWAYS hated the pram, since newborn. However, separation anxiety has peaked big time and now he just screams and cries in the pram... Unless we hold hands
Now, this is a difficult task when it's just me but if my partner is pushing I can walk beside and we hold hands. I'm not fussed about it but my partner thinks I'm giving in every time he cries and reaches out for me which is creating a bad habit.
My thought is one day he won't want to hold my hand🥺 he won't reach out for me so why would I deny the comfort he's searching for in that moment
Can someone reassure me that I'm not creating a bad habit.

Just need opinions on if I’m being irrational about the safety of my 7 month old son. I’m a first time single mum. His dad is having knee reconstruction surgery and I’m worried about his visits during his recovery. He lives with his 75 year old mum, a dachshund who is a handful and had visits from his 13 year old daughter twice a week. They’re in a 3 story house, but he’s confirmed moved everything for our son downstairs. He will be on crutches and no idea how long recovery is, or when physio will start and has been very vague about everything regarding his recovery, saying the hospital hasn’t given him any information. So I arranged for health visitor to go and see what she thought. He kept saying his mum might be busy that day (she doesn’t get out as hip and knee mobility issues so I was suspicious of this). On the day of the visit where I wanted HV to see how his mum handled Harrison, she conveniently had a doctors appointment at the time of the visit, so she couldn’t check how she was lifting and carrying Harrison. He has told health visitor that his sister who attended the appointment will be helping during his recovery and that he would be out of action for the first week. When he dropped our son back, he said his sister works, so couldn’t be there all the time and that he wants him the first week. I have stood my ground and said we will be going by what you have told the health visitor. He’s also confirmed he will be on crutches. I’m just worried about our son’s safety with being dropped, or someone tripping over the dog, not getting to him in time if in danger or choking. I was told by him to “trust me” and painted as a controlling mum constantly. Just doesn’t feel right to “give in” and accept potentially he isn’t safe just to keep the peace 😔

I’m so confused if I’m supposed to use postpartum belly binder or not. Different people say different things. When do we start using it and when do we stop please advise from personal experience🙏🏻
