Has anyone ever experienced this color poop before ? Should I be concerned or could it be normal. Usually it’s greener and has yellow seed like poop. She’s formula fed gerber gentle. *4month old*

What was the last she ate? Dark, tarry stools are can be an indication of blood in the stool. I would definitely contact her pediatrician.

She’s eating normal. She has sweet potatoes today but never had a problem before she’s been eating sweet potatoes for a bit now

Yes!! Please call the doctor. It could be super old poop that has just been sitting in there. Has she been pooping normally? Is her tummy distended at all?

We had this colour when we had to change aptamil milk to special milk as my little one had cows milk allergy . But not from normal formula milk .

I’ve seen poops like that I think it’s normal as long as it isn’t for multiple days 🤷🏽♀️

My first thought is she might have consumed a little too much iron. I wouldn’t worry about internal bleeding or anything right off the bat.

My son is 9 months currently and has always been on Gerber gentle, when he was around 5-6 months old his poop was the same color, sometimes almost teal-like. I took a picture of his diaper and showed it to our pediatrician and she said it was completely normal. Was just his digestive system changing and nothing to be concerned about. If you really smear it and look closely with a light it's actually green which is completely fine!

my sons poop was purple from bananas. please dont save the diaper. I would just show her doc at next visit if she is eating and isent acting funny.

I get Gerber Gentle from WIC but before I was getting Similac. Once we changed to Gerber Gentle my baby's poop is always this color. Except for when I started introducing her to solids. Doctor told me it was normal.

I had a freak out with dark pooo once! If she’s eating baby foods it can cause this! Take some on a q tip and swatch it on a white piece of paper to see green! Call doc immediately if it’s black or has blood in it!

I would talk to your doctor.. it could be a liver issue ( since she is 4 months ) I would be a bit concerned.. can you email the picture to your doc?

ask a medical professional 💕

Omg this looks exactly like how my daughters poop looked before too. I was freaking out and showed a picture to my pediatrician and she said it was normal with formula fed babies. I even posted about it on peanut as well and a bunch of people were scaring me even more saying that it didn’t look normal and to call my pediatrician. I’d call just to make sure, but I wouldn’t worry too much! (:
