Tums, I seriously cried when someone gave me Tums. It was so beautiful because I had the worst heartburn.

A gift card to buy maternity clothes

Avatar

A massage gift card would of been amazing while I was pregnant. Or you could surprise her with a lunch date to the mall and then buy her some kind of maternity clothes that she feels great in.

Freezer meals to heat up once the baby is born. I had a friend do this and it was a life saver!! I didn’t have to think about dinner for a month!

U-shaped pregnancy pillow. It’s is the biggest life saver and I could not live without mine, probably ever again!

When she does get to be super pregnant, treat her to a blow out...I have waist long hair and it was the biggest pain to wash and blow dry after 30wks, my arms just got too tired...one of my gfs took me to get my hair blown out, then a pedicure and lunch, such a great gift when ur very pregnant!

I second the massage gc idea. I would've killed for one when I was pg. Hell, I'd kill for one anytime! Haha Any kind of spa/mani/pedi/salon pampery goodness would be awesome though.

I had a pregnancy pillow that was nice, but I can't say I HAD TO HAVE IT. Otherwise I didn't have any musts for this pregnancy. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

So I’m going to be THAT person! If you’re close friends, a vibrator with a long handle (wand). I personally dealt with excessive dryness which made even wearing underwear uncomfortable and I’m allergic to most lubricants. Also, it worked wonders for the pain that I experienced in my down stairs with everything prepping itself. If it’s not a close friend, then I’d say a gift card for maternity clothes or even a gift basket for the baby. My sister in law gave us a baby hamper filled with toys(birth-1year interactive and educational), blankets, onesies, books, bibs, burp clothes and then topped with a box of diapers and an envelope filled with cash. A bit excessive but can be a great thought at a ā€œnormalā€ level.

unisom! i could not get through the night without it.

I definitely reccomend a spa type thing. Everyone offers pregnancy related stuff. I got myself a nice pedicure at the end of my pregnancy and it was seriously the best ever. My feet were so swollen and it just helped me relax and have some me time as a woman, not as a mom-to-be, which no matter how excited you are to be a mom, that's still super important.

Maternity clothes
Pregnancy pillow
Belly oil (I loved berts bees)
Yoga ball

The pregnancy pillow. I loved that thing and it helped me sleep

If you can afford it, an "in home" pedicure or massage. I didnt want to leave the house once I got past 8 months pregnant. Also, I bought a pregnancy/body pillow and it did nothing for me, I could never get comfortable using it, and it's not cheap!

I didn't end up liking any actual pregnancy clothes. I bought some pregnancy jeans & undies, but I found them uncomfortable. I ended up getting a bunch of maxi dresses & super stretchy non-pregnancy undies instead.

Btw, I totally recommend these undies for pregnancy (& all other times too if you can afford them). They stretch with your changing body & are the most comfy things ever. http://getcomfy.in/jCpjU

The Boppy lounger, it's perfect for bottle feeding (if that's in your plans) and taking naps. Way cheaper then dock a tot. Changing pad clutch for when you are just running quick errands. Two changing pads if you have multiple floors. Bibs so they don't ruin those cute outfits! Diaper back and Mommy clip.

Pregnancy massage! I got one at 8 months and I was in heaven!! It was the best hour of my entire pregnancy! I had the pillow and loved it but my dogs fought for it and won šŸ˜šŸ˜‚

To ask her if she needs help and make her take a shower, eat and have some sleep if you can help with the baby while she does that. It might not be what you want to hear because I can't recommend some product but trust me, once her baby is here and she is sleep deprived and hungry she will not care for any gadget or product. You can purchase something, sure! But don't forget about her basic needs because she might need help. Also don't buy a Boppy because many are being already recalled. Good luck!

😔

I decided to give my fiancĆ© the baby and finally take a nap being that I was on go for almost 24hrs straight! I’ve told him a NUMEROUS amount of times that he has to turn the a/c when he puts her in her bassinet bc the air goes directly over here

I just woke up to my baby crying and literally shivering to the point her lips were starting to turn purple. And he’s SLEEP!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

I want to punch him awake so bad. How do I bring it up to him without crashing out??

11 month old only lasting half the night in his cot

Every night my 11 month old goes to bed in his cot fine. He does a fairly good 4-5 hour stretch and then wakes. Sometimes I’m lucky and he settles himself, sometimes I just need to lay him down or rub his back to settle him. But other times it’s a case of holding him until he falls into a deep sleep and transferring him.

Some nights I get lucky and he stays asleep for a few more hours but more often than not he wakes again 30-60 minutes later and we start the process again.

Then when we get to around 3/4am I’m so exhausted I take him into either my bed or my step sons bed to go sleep and the second he lays down he falls asleep! Even if I’ve not laid next to him yet. I then sleep next to him and get up at 05:30 and he continues to sleep all the way through until 7/8am

I used to think he wanted me, but the fact he can fall straight asleep without me even laying down next to him tells me differently. The only difference is the duvet/fleece blanket I put over him

How can I stop this need to go into a different bed part way through the night?

Cradle cap

Looking for recommendations. He’s 6 months and I have just left it but it’s not getting better. I’ve seen coconut oil is best, can I just use any sort for him please?

(UK based products and hopefully something I can get from Superdrug as I’m doing an order šŸ˜‚)

Does anyone else feel this kind of guilt?

I’m going back to work in a couple of weeks—just two days a week—and my 8½-month-old has started her settling-in sessions at nursery. Yesterday was her second one, and it honestly broke my heart.

She’s breastfed but will take expressed milk from a bottle (as long as it’s not from me). When I picked her up, she was absolutely screaming—she’d clearly been crying for a while. Her hair was damp with tears, her eyes were red, and she was so upset. She’d refused her bottle, even though the staff member trying to feed her was a breastfeeding mam herself, and she’d just woken up from a nap too.

She’ll only be going once a week, as my mother-in-law will have her on the other day I’m working. But I can’t shake the feeling that I’m being cruel… I just don’t know if she’s going to settle. Once she gets really worked up, she’ll only calm down with someone she knows, and it took me a good 10 minutes to soothe her after I picked her up.

My mother-in-law has offered to have her both days, and I’ve said I’ll consider it if she doesn’t settle at nursery after a month—especially since my little one absolutely loves being with her.

But I keep questioning myself… am I making the right decision sending her to nursery at all? šŸ¤

38 week MW apt

Do they check your cervix? I’ve heard that it might happen but people that have told me haven’t had a baby for many years so unsure what to expect! What usually happens at the 38 week apt?
