For Halloween we are going to my mom’s and she is making mummy hotdogs. I am in my first trimester and haven’t told anyone yet. Do you think it is ok if I eat them?

Learn more about our guidelines. My doctor told me to don't eat hotdogs so I didn't eat them but from time to time my son loves them and I give it to him and I would sneak a little piece but not much cause i didn't want to take any chances so be very cautious of if you decide to eat them
Yes you can you can eat anything you want but seafood and only fish it’s either once or twice a week
Its just supposed to be heated first, like lunch meats.
As long as they’re cooked very thoroughly it’ll be fine. Part of why there’s recommendations to stay away from them are due to improper cooking temps that don’t kill any bacteria there might be in them.
One of my first pregnancy cravings was a good chili cheese dog and I indulged making one at home and just made sure everything was super hot and it totally hit the craving spot! I Wouldn’t recommend eating them all the time but once should be just fine.
It's not good if you have a distaste for many foods. If you have an appetite and don't get sick. I've been fine but didn't have an appetite until the second trimester. I didn't want to risk it. I think you should but just be cautious on your stomach and even on how you feel when you smell them!!
Eat it mama! I still eat lunch meat but I just heat it up fully. Just make sure it’s heated up.
I was a crazy ass when I was prego and didn’t eat anything my doctor told me not to eat and that was one of them 🤷🏻♀️
Is that an American Dr thing? Ive never heard of a Dr in the UK saying to avoiding hot dogs?
