UTI second trimester

I’ve got all the usual symptoms of a UTI today (bang on the 20-week mark!). Of course, my doctors is closed and we don’t have walk in centres nearby.

Any advice for temporary relief mamas?

Drink loads of water, like literally force yourself to drink and pee every time you feel the urge, and take at least 2 paracetamols

It happened to me two days ago in the evening and the next day I went to the gp and got antibiotics prescribed
But this should help for now, hope you feel better ❤️ it’s a very annoying thing

Do you have a shop with a chemist in open near you. They may be able to offer you advice of what is okay to take and give you any treatment if necessary

If it’s bad then call your triage, they will call you in and prescribe you antibiotics if needed 😊

i use to suffer during pregnancy & cranberry juice did it for me

111 is not really helpful, I called them crying in pain from my uti and they dismissed me saying I should drink water, take paracetamol and go to the gp the following day
But that may just be my experience 🤷🏿‍♀️

I would strongly advise that you’re still seen over the weekend. If you call your normal GP practice, there should be information on where to contact out of hours - there’s always someone to see you, no matter where you live.

It’s vital that it’s treated promptly, especially during pregnancy!

If you can get to a chemist or boots, they usually have something for relief, I’ve had sachets that you mix with water that take the pain away. However that was before I was pregnant so you’d have check what’s safe to take x

I suffer with UTI all the time the thing I found that works a lot more than anti biotics is D-mannose from holland and barrett's. They are herbal and worked so much better for me thank anti biotics xx hope this helped

Definitely get seen at a chemist, they have been a god send for me this pregnancy, I have a bad right kidney so very very prone to UTIs and they have been able to test and contact the duty doctor at casualty for me on a saturday. If not then give the midwife a phone and she should help xx

Thanks for your advice ladies! I called 111 and they had a local out-of-hours doctors call me back and send me a prescription to a local pharmacy. I totally didn’t know this was something they did!

Peace of mind please

I shot up at 4am last night and had the urge to check my little boy who sleeps in a cot next to our bed.
For the first time he has rolled over and was sleeping on his stomach, my heart dropped.
I was so scared that I picked him up to make sure he was okay and he was just sound asleep…

What are we supposed to do if they roll over in their sleep?! He’s almost 6 months old and I’m prettified of him rolling and it being a different outcome if I don’t wake up..

Just need some peace of mind that this is
okay?

Moving 18 week old to her own room

Just looking for some advice really. I know at this age (18 weeks) she will most likely be going through sleep regression BUT I have been thinking for a while now about the time to put her in her own cot.. she’s in a next to me one at the moment and is constantly hitting the sides with her feet and she’s waking up so so much! Has any other mums moved their babies to their own room?

We have the owlet sock and camera so of course would keep an eye on her and I’m planning on sleeping in the room with her to begin with just to see if she sleeps any better. I know it’s advised 6 months due to SIDS but feel as though we would all get better sleep

I don’t really know what to do as me and my partner are EXHAUSTED

P.s she does nap through the day really well in her own bed so she is used to it

How are you BOTH getting sleep with a newborn?! 😴

Hey mamas 🤍

Looking for any advice or tips on how to protect a few hours of sleep for both me and my partner 🙏

We have a 5-week-old who usually wakes around 12/1/2am (depending on bedtime), and then again around 3/4/5am. My partner works from 7am to 5pm usually, so evenings can feel a bit full-on, and nights are quite broken at the moment (which I understand is quite normal!).

We’re combi feeding, as in the baby has expressed breast milk during the day, and we switch to formula overnight.

Would love to hear what’s worked for you from shifts, routines, anything that helped you both get a bit more rest 💭✨

Colic Baby

Anyone else have a colic baby? If so how do you cope with it and get your sleep in? I’ve tried everything under the sun, on top of this he’s cluster feeding like hell.

Baby slept all night

Sorry, I just need to post this... my little boy is 12w5d and he slept through from 9:30-6am, woke for a feed and went back to sleep until 8:30!!! I can't believe it. I was obviously up every few hours checking on him and making sure he was ok, so I didn't get a full nights sleep 🤣 but I'm so pleased for him! 🎉🥳 (not a brag btw, I'm just so pleased and wanted to share)
