Mamas, please tell me I'm not the only one?

After getting laid off from the pandemic I've been home for 3 months now without any type of breaks, its get up cook clean all day and without having a sitter for my husband and I to have alone time. I wake up today feeling sick and overwhelmed (not corona) to see my little one has scribbled permanent marker EVERYWHERE. I broke down and cried, told my husband to come home because i was going to lose it.

Ohhhh noooo the floor too even!? Kids are little shit heads. I called my toddler shithead but pronounce it shi- thead lmao she recently colored with crayon on our walls. Does a magic eraser take that off? 🤔 it did the crayon but obviously that’s different than a permanent marker 😞

I tried everything even peanut butter and it does not come off 🥺 now we looking at repainting the kitchen

Did you try alcohol? I’m so sorry mama. I would’ve lost it too

Not certain it will work but try alcohol gel. Sorry you're feeling this way. Just remember that one day you'll show this picture to your little munchkin and laugh about it I'm sure. X

Yes i hope so but for now we are super stressed myself more than my husband i just came to my room and cry , my husband got home early and bought things to remove it but nothing works

Try white spirit x

Mine is otw, but I can only imagine. I would lose my shit if I woke up to that. I lose it now when my dog's decide to use the house for their potty breaks. My fiance says I can't punish them, they don't remember. I just feel like he's the pushover & were expecting our first child. Its going to crossover from dogs to child getting away with everything.

My daughter did this not too long ago on our newly painted walls. The Magic eraser will help lighten it a lot but not remove it completely. We had to scrub a ton with the magic eraser and repainted once it was light enough. I feel you, I was a SAHM for 3 years and these moments drive me nuts. Take some time to yourself you definitely need a break!

Have you tried the magic eraser sponges?

Yes many to the point that they crumbled from the scrubbing

Maybe Just put in your mind it looks cute And do some more art together😭 sending love!!!

Oh no!!!! Try hairspray, WD-40 nail polish remover. I did get most of mine off with hairspray. Good luck xx

Oh I’m so sorry lovely :( Get some ‘pink stuff’. Paste it on and leave it for a little while. It gets off limescale so I hope it works for you 💕

We tried it all that now the paint is coming off but not the marker, we will just have to pain over them 😥

Look at the positives... now it’s any excuse to give it a budget DIY make over!! Fablon or some wood paint! Keep yourself mind busy whilst in lockdown too! Sending you lots of love xxx

Brake fluid ? It works on all sorts of stains in our house - nail polish in the carpets and it worked xx

Hair spray

Have you tried “the pink stuff” i heard that it can remove pretty much anything

Try to focus on priorities, at least it sounds like you’re all safe and sound. A lot more crazy things are happening out there xx

I know this doesn’t help the current situation but you can take a cabinet door off, take it to a paint shop or wherever, and they will color match it. That way you can just do a primer and the color matched paint on areas with marker, not the entire kitchen. Many places sell little wood pens so you can color match the floor and get a pen to go over the floor marks. Hugs 💕

Girl, I feel you so much right now. All I can give is a sympathetic head nod. Looks like you’ll be repainting those cabinets. Work out a scheduled “away from everything/everyone time for yourself” take a break and breathe. I’m sorry.

Haha omg did you try to bleach it? Otherwise run to hardware store for some sandpaper and paint and do some painting hehe.. I thought only my little one ran amock like this! You are not alone! 😅

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DU5SRIY/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_fabt1_eJEQFbAPQWZGY You can try this

Yesss I heard so many good things about this!

Thank you all, my husband took it off with many diff items, i think we will need to paint over though

You need a bottle of Bar Keepers Friend, a bottle of wine, and your husband to take a PTO day so you can go outside and eat a package of Reese’s Cup by your self for 3 hours. Hang in there momma you’re doing great!

Girl ,nail polish remover will make it come right off, dont rub too hard cause the paint from the cabinets will come off too...honestly,I think it's cute but it definitely isnt when it happens to oneself 😱 Next maybe buy some goof off that comes in a spray bottle it's like 6 bucks from walmart and for that specific type of stuff...I think lol

Oh my god!! I’m so sorry this happened to your kitchen. I once drew on my moms walls and she made me clean it up. I never did it again. I know it’s permanent but maybe your kid can help with the repainting or whatever you’ll be doing...

😭🖤

My sofa is currently covered in marker. It happens 🤷‍♀️ hair spray usually usually gets it off but I can’t even be bothered lol

Rubbing alchohol, a bag of cotton balls, and patience

Try the Magic Erasers, White Spirit or Nail varnish remover! I don't think I have a single item of furniture that hasn't been drawn on 😂

Magic erasers work ive used them for permanent marker on my walls

I second the magic eraser. I've used them to take permanent marker off things a few times.

Nail polish remover would take it all off. Sending you a big virtual hug xx

My mom used the Mr Clean Magic Erasers for when my ass did sharpie wall art and it took it off!!! Sorry mama :(

Time for a real bollocking...

Toothpaste!!! I used to work at a nursing home and whenever people would write on the walls with permanent marker we would scrub toothpaste on it, let it sit for about 10 min and just clean it right off

This is absolutely awful, I’d be mega stressed aswell, once hubby is home go and have a nice walk and get some fresh air and perspective! Go home an have a nice warm bath and chill out! Yes it’s a mess and yes it needs fixing but in the grand scheme of things, it’s only kitchen cupboards 🤷‍♀️ you will look back at this in years to come and actually laugh about how bad it was! Sending hugs 🤗

Omfg I know the feeling!!! If you have “Easy off” the oven cleaner works magic! Trust me, speaking from experience. My “genius” husband thought it was a brilliant idea to get our kids markers and the 2 now 3 years old went ham! Like forget the coloring books, she just went straight for the walls and carpet and furniture. It took me nearly 2.5 hours to clean it up, only for her to find some crayons and do it again a few days later.

I’m glad you took a photo because you can show it to the kids when they are older and laugh about it!! Precious moments said the grandmother

Somedays you just need to drink wine and watch TV! As a stay at home mom for the last 10 years I can tell you, you need to take breaks during the day. You don't get time off, you have to make time for yourself. Lock the bathroom door and play some games while you take an extra long bathroom break, or sneak off while they watch a TV show and do a craft or nap or something.

Try a bleach pen. My son drew all over our house, magic erasers and bleach took it all off

Mr clean Magic erasers get that out easily

You will laugh about this with baby one day

I believe there’s something on amazon called pink putty that helps get this stuff off! I would definitely look into it!

Yea i saw it but my husband took most of it out already with some stuff he found at lowes but it was so strong it peeled thr paint 🙁

I know on certain surfaces, colouring over permanent marker with easy wipe marker can lift it - try that next time 😊 Mums do a lot - taking care of the family and the home is a big job. See if the grandparents can give you a break for a few hours. I did read your post as "without having a sitter for my husband" - I was thinking men are hard work but I don't know if mine needs a sitter hehe 😄

Pure alcohol will remove it in no time! x

My kid got permanent marker all over our white quartz cointertop this week... kids are quick. Rubbing alcohol did the trick. Sorry this happened to you, I know I lost it, and my kid is only 2.
