I've been using this the whole way through and I don't have as many stretch marks as I thought I would. My mum got them so it's inevitable that I've got them as well. Not much that a cream can do, if you get them you get them, depends on your skin type ☹️

I’ve used this throughout my first pregnancy, I had twins so was pretty huge and hardly got any stretch marks. This time round I’ve used this together with bio oil since I was 6 weeks pregnant and luckily got no stretch marks at all

Bio Oil! I swear by it. I didn’t get any stretch marks, I would use this lotion at first then read extra virgin olive oil.. my problem was I only rubbed it on my belly, not thinking you get stretch marks else where. A friend recommended bio oil, as she used it on her self harm scars she did as a kid.. I’ve put bio oil on my butt/leg/hip stretch marks & within a few weeks they were lighting up, I’m 6m post from my second baby & they are practically gone! I only see small ones bc it’s me.. but my boyfriend can’t even tell I ever had any.

The tummy butter by palmers did amazing on my stretch marks!

Avatar

I used Palmer’s too and didn’t get any stretch marks

Avatar

I didn’t like this but the tummy butter was amazing. I put it on already existing stretch marks and it lightened them so much. It’s also super hydrating

ThankYou everyone!! ☺️xx

I used bio oil.... got to week 36 and they slowly started to appear and by my due date I had stretch marks all over my stomach. I figured I would try to get them to fade after my baby arrived but honestly I dont even care too much about them. I have always been body conscious but the way you feel after you meet your little one, none of it matters. All your attention goes to them and I now look at them as a sign of what my body went through for my little one.
I have heard that aloe gel direct from the plant helps though if you are still looking. But just something I read to help them fade.

No cream will prevent stretch marks. It's down to the amount of collagen in your skin which is determined by your genetics. For that reason I just use a nice smelling moisturiser because if I'm gonna get stretch marks I'm gonna get them!

Avatar

I used this and Burt's bees mama belly butter for my last pregnancy and didn't have any stretch marks except a few on my hips . Love it!

Avatar

ThankYou all , think i’ll try everything use have all suggested if nothing works i’ll just have to deal with it! xx

Avatar

I have been using pure coconut oil and i have no stretch marks. Also my midwife did say some people will get them regardless xx

Avatar

I use the honest belly oil with Shea butter

Avatar

I have been using this, not frequently but when I feel a little dry and I have yet to get a new stretch mark and my prior ones have lightened. I hateeeee the texture that it leaves on my skin, I feel it doesn’t soak in well but it’s seems to be working. My doctor told me stretch marks can be lessened or prevented if your skin has moisture so I’m guessing any Shea butter would work great too

Avatar

I used My Expert Midwife Skin Elastic during my last pregnancy and never got any stretch marks. I’m using it again with baby number 2 and so far, so good!

Avatar

I used the Palmers stretch mark cream and highly recommended!!! I really loved it, helps to control stretch marks, is soothing and controls itchy skin too. Good luck! :))

Avatar

I've been using bloom and blossom x its lovely, I think you can get it from boots but definitely amazon if not xx

Avatar

I use the stuff in the photo since day 1! I love it and my belly has never felt so soft 🥰 sadly nothing actually prevents stretch marks as they will happen of it happens. But does help make your skin more elasticated to grow.

Burts bees mama bee

Avatar

Elemis oil! Used all through pregnancy, had a big baby and no stretch marks!

Avatar

Neals yard mamma’s balm is lovely! I’ve been using a rotation of this and the mama mio tummy oil, palmers stretch mark cream and the palmers tummy butter. So far so good 🤞

Avatar

I’d highly recommend educating yourself on all the ingredients within these products. One by one look up what they are actually made from. Unfortunately many of them contain ingredients which are bad for your system and baby’s. You might like to go for an organic coconut oil or jojoba oil.

Avatar

coconut oil and OR olive oil!!!!! works wonders honestly - i used cocobutter too but never helped for me i still use it to moisturise but pure coconut oil is wonderful and does the same as any other expensive product
goodluck xx

Old fashion bio oil I felt was the best.

Avatar

Hey lovely, so the creams really only help reduce the appearance of stretch marks if you get them, just had my second and used oil and cream throughout both and still got them, thought I was lucky until 34 weeks when the first showed. It’s more down to genetics and skin elasticity, but rest assured they fade and become less noticeable over time. Pure vitamin e cream is great but only use it after baby arrives really helps your skin recover as well as possible xx

Avatar

I’ve been using the coco butter and also willow by the sea. I’m 29 weeks and so far I’ve been pretty lucky and avoided stretch marks. X

Avatar

I use Mama Mio skincare xx

Avatar

I’ve been using this combined with bio oil in the morning and then using Lush’s sleepy in the evening to keep me moisturised and also help me sleep thanks to the lavender ☺️

Avatar

Mama bee belly butter by burts bees!! It’s been amazing 🥰🥳 you can get it on Amazon!

Avatar

I'm currently using dove vanilla and shea butter as I think that bio oil is way to expensive plus you can get dove any where which is why I use it that and soap and glory body butter works wonders for me x

Avatar

Bio-Oil all the way!

Avatar

I used this and didn’t get any stretch marks but I’m not really convinced that was down to the moisturiser, if I’m honest!

Avatar

The best stretch mark oil that I have used is by Freeze Frame. It has worked wonders for me. I actually didn’t develop any stretch marks during my pregnancy, had them before hand from growth. If you try this, I hope it works 🥰

Avatar

I’ve used mama bee belly butter since my bump started to show and haven’t had any stretch marks on my belly! x

Avatar

Unfortunately stretch marks are genetic. I used bio oil every day and I’ve got stretch marks everywhere

Avatar

I don’t understand how it can be genetic I had two kids and I only have small stretch marks on my hips and I used this Palmers lotion and coconut oil and rub it everywhere!

But My sister just had her baby and has lots of stretch marks and she applied what I used and tells me nothing else she tries worked for her so i don’t know what it could be.

Avatar

I have the one u posted in this post and I’m still a bit itchy. And like it makes my belly feel more dry so I stopped using it. The tummy butter helps fade the stretch marks awayish. And I massage my belly with it

Avatar

Yes it’s genetic. I’m on my 3rd pregnancy and I’ve used palmers and no stretch marks at all. But Ladies remember to hydrate from within too drink a lot of water to minimize stretch marks, I heard organic Roses tea help with hydration as well. Add collagen to your diet and protein and Vit C 🔑

Avatar

And I’m all about inexpensive and natural thing maybe this time I will just stick to coconut oil.

Avatar

Neals Yard Mother’s Balm has worked for me

Avatar

I think it helps personally to mix it up throughout, I’ve used a mixture of bio oil and the palmers along with some sample creams I’ve collected! And I’ve only got one little patch of stretch marks appeared (but the creams have seemed to reduce the look of previous stretch marks I had from weight gain over the years)!

Avatar

I just got the whole kit. I’m going to use it morning and night. I’ll keep you updated 👍🏼

Avatar

thank you all for commenting!! ♥️♥️

I’ve been using coconut oil with a drop of gentle baby essential oil. I also put a coat of Vaseline on top. I do this every night before bed. My stomach is still moist when I wake up in the morning. I’m 26 weeks pregnant with my second and haven’t had any itching at all. I wasn’t consistent with putting lotion on in my first pregnancy and got small stretch marks on the sides of my belly at 28 weeks. I’m pretty sure that won’t happen this time. But we shall see. lol

Avatar

I use this and it’s amazing, lightens the stretch marks xx

Avatar

I’ve been moisturising with the Berts Bee’s Mumma Bee cream since I found out at 6 weeks and I’m developing stretch marks. It really is to do with the length of time you spend massaging the skin and not so much the actual lotion but I’ve now added in bio-oil to try and reduce them as well as giving me something to oil the skin and spend longer doing the massage 🧡
Although I do inevitably just end up laying there with hands on my bump and feeling little one move around!

Avatar

I’ve tired burts bee and the Palmas! I do have stretch marks and they aren’t stopping! Midwife said unfortunately if my type of skin and nothing will avoid them. She said if you had them during puberty your likely to get them pregnant. Only positive is that I have been using bio oil and they have faded so I think it’s a deffo go too! X

Avatar

Coconut oil can help BUT its really a genetic and hydration thing.

Avatar

Touch wood i never had any stretch marks with all of my pregnancies. Im currently expecting my 4th no stretch marks again. But i was told by my sister to use bio-oil xxx

Avatar

I use on my boobs, makes them bigger

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Homebirth?

I am thinking I want a homebirth (second baby) for a few different reasons but my husband is very against it, he is worried about things going wrong and we are a 30 minute drive from the hospital. Has anyone been in a similar position and what did you end up doing? Any advice? 🙏
