21 months-only because she figured out how to escape and was hurting herself
Put it off as long as you can!

Avatar

We just did last week, 2years old and a couple of months. The portacot he was in was getting a little small for him and we are expecting in Dec so thought we better do it now so he thinks it is because he is a big boy, not because he's being booted out for baby lol

Avatar

We are at two and a half still in the crib. Putting it off until he figures out how to climb out of it šŸ¤žšŸ»

Avatar

Between 19 and 20 months, little one will be 21 months next week. So recently.

Avatar

16 months. I put pillows on the floor while she got used to the side being gone.

Avatar

Wondering the same thing my oldest I think was 3 my youngest is 1 in a crib

Avatar

About 12 months we bought a low frame single bed and ditched the crib. But we only used it for naps until 2.

Avatar

About 2.. I think you just have to gauge it with your little one and see if they’re ready. Every baby is different.

18 months or less as he kept climbing over! We did keep a side on the bed though so he didn’t roll out and it made him feel more secure x

Avatar

About 21 months but she was trying to climb

Avatar

About 18 months she climbed over the cot rail and out and came into my bedroom to say hello 😬

Avatar

2!

Avatar

My daughter was a year old, but that's simply because of her height. She is super tall x

Avatar

My daughter is 21 months and so scared to switch her to toddler bed because off the way she sleeps 🤣😩

Avatar

Took the side off the cot the day he turned one. No drama at all. He got a toddler bed at 18 months and loves it. He's 2 now and still going awesome.

Avatar

My daughter was 2 years old. But she kept weighing around and hitter her head off the side. Got her a three quarter bed (small double) when she was 3 and has slept perfect since

Avatar

2 years only because I gave birth to 2nd baby so had to transition 1st child quickly

Avatar

About 15 months as he was climbing out of his cot.

Avatar

I switched when my son turned 2

Avatar

I just switched my son to a toddler bed last week. He’ll be 2 on Saturday. He loves it!

Avatar

When it became apparent they could get themselves out (leg up on the side).

Avatar

We changed our lo over at 13 months and never had an issue. He gets up in the middle of the night and crawls in bed with us but that's about the only thing. He'll be 2 in Oct and he loves his big boy bed.

Avatar

Toddler bed at 18 months and twin bed at 2 years for my son.

Avatar

2.5 years … because baby came & was outgrowing the bassinet
I did like her in the crib because in the mornings she would have to stay in there & play or fall back asleep until I got up hehe but now she’s up like a rooster!!

Avatar

2.5 years. She was fine in her crib, didn’t try and climb out or anything, we just had a very good bedtime routine going and not a lot of things going on in life so we decided it was a good time for us. We wanted transitioned her into a toddler bed while the timing was right, instead of waiting til we absolutely had to (like if she started crawling out of it, or if we got pregnant again) because who knows what would be going on in life when that happened.

Avatar

I’m struggling with this too! My son will be 3 in November and has no interest in leaving the crib. He doesn’t try to climb out and he is not one for change!! So I know the transition will be difficult. Any suggestions?

Avatar

My oldest we transitioned her right before she turned 2 and she did great!

My second is about 2.5 and is not the best at communicating so I just worry that she would get out of bed with out me realizing it and get into trouble. The room is as baby proof as I can get it we had to move from a large house to live with my father in law so we are down to 2 rooms so that makes things hard. She is in therapy to help help her with her development and speech. I maybe worried about nothing but that thought doesn't help my mommy brain.

Avatar

When I noticed he was jumping and trying to get out by himself. Around age 2.

Avatar

My girl is 2 1/2 half and I’m 6 weeks away from my due date. We ask but she is not ready ot give up her crib. So we are gonna see how she is after 3-4. That’s what most experts say. I would not force the issue. Especially if you don’t have to. A friend forced her 2 year old out of her crib so she could use it for her son, and to this day her daughter (who previously had 0 sleeping issues) sleeps on her floor smack against her door so no one can get into her room in the morning.

Avatar

My child is 2.5 and still in a crib. She’s only climbed out once. Otherwise she’s very content just hanging out in her crib and everyone has told me to keep her In a crib for as long as she’ll let us. So either she will start to climb out more or she’ll get kicked out when the 2nd comes along šŸ˜‚

When we started the potty training process that's when we changed the bed.

Avatar

All in toddler or twin by 18 months and potty training starts if they are ready but all my kids so far have been potty trained by just after 2 yo.

Avatar

9months

Avatar

I generally waited for my kids to tell my my son switched at about 2.5 my first daughter was the same age but my last baby hated the crib and at about 10m we lowered her crib all the way and took the front part off so she can get in and out freely, left a body pillow on the floor infront of it, she absolutly loves it this way.

Avatar

2 years 1 month. Mainly because he was potty training and we wanted him to be able to get out of bed at night if he felt he needed to go x

Avatar

With my first we switched to a mattress on the ground right before she turned one because she was climbing around. We just baby proofed the entire nursery and put a gate on the door so she couldn't get out until we got her. Currently pregnant and we're planning on switching to a toddler bed once they start standing/ climbing again

Avatar

Mine is 2 1/2 he climbs up and down his cot hes ready. But I kept him longer as I worried hel fall off his big boy bed. But hes ready i think

I switched my son to a bed this year after he turned 2

Avatar

2 years old

Avatar

I can't remember, but I think around two

Avatar

Just did a week after he turned 2. Only because he crawled out of his crib. Otherwise I wouldn’t have made the move

Avatar

We are in the process right now and she's 16mo. It's only because she's very independent, her room is baby proof, and we want to use the crib for her brother in 2 months...so we want to give her a transition time. She loves the bed (it's a frame that sits on the floor so she can get in and out herself), and right now we are just working on her getting out of it easily without falling before we try a nap and do bedtime a little later. She's also beginning to indicate potty training readiness signals. When we start that process I want her able to get up when needed, not stuck and having to wet herself.

Avatar

See took the side off the cot bed when she turned three and have just moved her into a single with a bed guard now she is 3.5. She still doesn’t climb out until we go get her in the morning

Avatar

My son will be 3 in a few weeks and he is still in his crib. He likes it and doesnt try to get out. He is potty trained when awake but will not wake up to go to the potty yet.

Avatar

I made the switch when my babes figured out how to climb out.. Both were 2 😁

Avatar

Mine is nearly 2 and we r considering putting him in his toddler bed. He keeps climbing into his sister's bed so we think he is ready

Bottle refusal

EBF and deciding I want a bit more flexibility so wanted to introduce a bottle so I can go out more.

She used to take one three months ago. Now she flat out refuses and cries - doesn’t matter if it’s expressed breastmilk or formula. Tried it in a sippy cup as well. What can I do?

shower infront of children

Is it weird to shower infront of your children, or your children see you naked?
At what age should this stop?

I’m just looking at what everyone’s thoughts are as I have a 7 month old and at the moment it’s hard for me to shower without him getting upset.

We contact nap atm, otherwise I'd shower when he sleeps!

It’s easier to bring his play mat into the bathroom whilst I shower so i can at least wash, else i have to wait for my husband to arrive home at 5/6pm.

Keen to see what people's opinions are and how other people do this!

GIRL DADS TAKING DAUGHTER TO BATHROOM IN PUBLIC

If a girl dad needs to take his daughter to the bathroom in public and there are no family bathrooms … I swear video online of a dad saying he uses the women’s bathroom but always knocks and announces ā€˜girl dad helping my daughter go to the bathroom’ and I love that idea and mens rooms are disgusting but wanted to see everyone’s thoughts
