Nordic/ Germanic girls names - what do you think?

So, I have been living in the UK for 12 years and am now back in Germany.
Whilst living here I quickly realised that most Vera‘s in the UK were 70plus, so thought if I ever have children Id like to make sure they have a name thats short, easy to pronounce and ideally also known in English speaking countries.

I do love nordic names though and would love your opinion/ suggestions on the following list.

Frieda (pronounced Free-da)
Ella
Eloise
Paula
Tilda
Wilma
Alma
Lotta
Selma

My god daughter is called Eloise, and i love Freida. I remember it was very popular in Sweden when i spent time there in my teens. But again its an older person's name in the UK generally.

Ultimately its up to you - all lovely names 😘

I absolutely love Alma we had that on our list 💕

My niece is Eloise, she's 5, we call her Ellie.
My ex husband and his family are German/Polish/Danish - so we looked at Germanic names as well.
My current partner also has German in his immediate family, we've chosen a Viking name this time around.

I really like Ella x

I absolutely love Frieda! It’s so pretty and really unusual here in the UK, which I personally think is a good thing!xx

Lovely names ❤️ all would be fine here in the UK. Only Wilma would surely be Vilma in Germany?

Love all those names. Yes, some are older people’s names in the uk but they often come back round anyway, like Violet or Rose, they were old people names when I was little bit now they’re really popular. Wilma is especially lovely.

What about Greta? 🤔

Eloise or Tilda for me I think. A big 'no' to Paula (apologies to all the Paulas out there). And Wilma will just remind everyone of Flintstone.

Love Ella ❤

They’re all really lovely names! Lotta and Alma are particularly pretty I think!

We had Astrid on our list and my mom knows a lot of Astrids from working around Europe, but doesn’t go with our British surname at all 😭😅

I love the older style names - my favourite on your list is Alma, then Frieda and Wilma xx they are all so cute xx

I’m German, living in Uk. ;)
Frieda is lovely (is my best mates name) it’s short for Friederike.
Paula and Ella and Eloise are really nice as well!
Alma, Tilda, Selma and Wilma are quite old fashioned. Lotta is short for Charlotte usually, but I absolutely love that name.
Hope that gave you some input 😉 Xx

Nursery funding

My child turned 9 months last week. I applied for government funded hours nearly 2 months ago and so well within the required timeframe for the April term, however upon receiving my first invoice without the funding applied and having questioned this, I have now been informed that the stretched funding doesn’t start until 4th May.

Has anyone else been told it won’t start until May?

The government site states it should start from April 1st, and so I intentionally set my nursery start and return to work as the start of April for that reason, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to afford the nursery on my sole income without the funding

Jealous of my husband

I’m so jealous of him and it’s making me resentful. We have a ten week old and I’m jealous that he is at work all day. I’m jealous he can leave for lunch and actually eat an uninterrupted lunch. Take a phone call uninterrupted. Chat with a friend he runs in to uninterrupted. Even go to the bathroom when he wants uninterrupted. He comes home from work when he wants. He’s not on a set schedule. Some days are late some are early. It depends on when he’s done. I’m jealous he can come home at 10pm and shower, eat and go right to bed uninterrupted because I already have the baby asleep. He doesn’t have to worry about anything house wise or baby wise because I’ve done it all. Meanwhile I’m covered in puke and crap and smell like rotten milk. When he is home he is VERY active and helpful. So it’s not that. I’m just jealous his world hasn’t changed and mine has I guess. This isn’t something he’s doing wrong so I’m not sure how to get past this. I wish I could keep him home all day because that’s how helpful he is, but I understand he obv needs to work.

Toddlers

How often are your toddlers asking for food? My oldest who is 3 just finished a whole plate of food and not even 10 minutes later he’s requesting more food. I know he’s going through a growth spurt, but how do you respond to this.

He has no respect for anything to do with me.

Husband and I decided to separate 3 days ago. I've been sleeping on the floor in the kids room, and we both have to stay in the same apartment for a while. He wont stop pushing little things and I am reaching my limit. Photos in comments

Is this normal?

Is it just my husband that does this? He is able to work from home via his computer and in the mornings and evenings he is on there doing his job. When he is done for the day he tends to stay in the room and either play video games or watch something. He will occasionally come out and play with the girls for a few minutes and that’s it but when I really need him he says he is busy. My daughters are both 1 year old now and I am just wondering how much involvement should he have with them now?
Idk if this is the norm or not…..
