All day Nausea…

This is my third pregnancy, and I was hoping I wouldn’t have to deal with the all day nausea again…

I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old to take care of as my husband works full time, and I’m SUFFERING.
I wake up and it’s so hard to get out of bed cause I’m so sick.
I never feel good, and I’m just so nauseas, or throwing up most of the day.

What does everyone else do to help with this??
All tips and tricks are welcome.

I have no family near to help with the kids, so I have no choice but to suffer.

Please help :(

I know it's so much easier said than done but someone told me to abandon what I felt were normal expectations for myself regarding my home and daily routines. To really do the bare minimum on days I felt terrible and let that be ok. It feels long term but it's a temporary situation until you start feeling better, whenever that might be. It's ok take care of yourself first bc really you're doing what's best for baby.

I felt HORRIBLE for the entire first trimester. Finally figured out I was super sensitive to smells and got rid of anything triggering. It was tough but once I got the fridge all the way cleaned out andade sure the trash went out EVERY day it started to help. Also the ginger gums and candies have pretty powerful flavor and helped cut through some of that. Hope you feel better soon

I am experiencing the same thing at the moment alone with a 2yrs old...All I do at night after eating is to pop ondasterone tablet in my mouth and that will be the last thing for the night, when you wake up in the morning, you won't feel nauseous at all

I was sick through my whole last pregnancy. The drops and lemonade helped me a lot. My chiropractor gave me some teas too but I’m not a tea person… I worked full time too ( thank goodness my boss was so understanding) I also had to snack like every hour or two. Not much food but a few crackers here and here or granola. If I didn’t snack I felt like crap.

I had HG for 8 mo. Almost pic line 5xs. Stopped drinking water had to go to ER 6xs for iv fluids. Spent the whole time on sedatives on lemon juice and cupcakes. It's still horrendous but we made it. It will pass. Everything was great, she's so smart. Even though it wasn't close to being perfect but God has a plan. It's gonna be alright

I had horrid nausea for the first 12-16 weeks, all day long and all night to the point it would wake me up out of a dead sleep! NOTHING helped until I finally demanded my dr give me anti nausea medicine. Metroclopromide was a life saver. It’s really frustrating that they don’t offer it unless you beg. Was night and day difference.

I’m currently 25 weeks pregnant, this is my second pregnancy. I’ve been dealing with a lot of nausea throughout my pregnancy. What works for me is drinking powerade/Gatorade and taking reglan.

This is my first pregnancy (33 weeks) and I had all day nausea for the first 5 months. What helped me a lot was eating some salty crackers in the morning before getting out of bed! It doesn't have to be much, only a few pieces. Also try not to drink before, during and immediately after eating, it helps to keep the food down! Also walking around when u feel nauseous helps as well, don't lay down immediately after eating

Avatar

sometimes multivitamins also cause nausea pls check with your doctor

Avatar

My doctor's prescribed diclegis for both my pregnancies. The first one it completely eliminated the nausea, the second made it more manageable during the day (still got sick when I woke up and before bed, but felt fine during the day). Maybe talk to your doc or midwife about it, they might be able to help

Avatar

I was prescribed Phenergan tablets. I would take them at night so I would have a good sleep and wake up not too groggy.

Avatar

My doctor had prescribed anti nausea medicine for me

Avatar

Ginger chews, peppermint tea, olives helped me

Avatar

You can ask metoclopramide tablets from your gp
It is really work

I dealt with nausea until about halfway through the second trimester with my pregnancy. Things you can try: saltines or citric fruit when you wake up. Preggie pop drops or peppermint. Sea band acupressure bracelets. My doctor also prescribed Ondansetron ODT dissolvable tablets. They helped limit the nausea and make it so I could eat a decent meal by around 2pm.

Avatar

Put angostura bitters on a lemon slice and suck it off or preggo pops. And with my second pregnancy starting my morning with a ton of protein helped (I ate deer steak or something similar when I woke up and it would help my nausea subside)

Avatar

I ate 2 saltine crackers in the morning or a banana and had a tums with water. Peppermint tea with a little Thyme (not gross I promise). Thyme helps with the mucus. Tried to distract myself. Its probably mucus and acid making a nice little cocktail in your stomach. Almond milk also helped. I hope you feel better mine went away around wk 15. But it came and went. Some weeks great some weeks sucked balls.

Vitamin b6 and unisom at night

Avatar

You probably have hyperemesis gravidarum & you’ll need to talk to your dr to get a prescription that will help you.

Avatar

I know some people are freaked about it but my doctor cleared me for zofran. I took it 1 to 2 times a day and it really helped me. My poor baby grew inside me counting on zofran, ginger ale, and saltines 🤪😔

Avatar

I’m in a similar boat but on meds for HG which I think you have too. You can always speak to the midwife of the antenatal clinic if you can’t get anywhere with the doctor. The meds are trial and error for what works for you. Ondanestron and metoclopramide are the two I’m on.

So this was me throughout my ENTIRE pregnancy.. like I couldnt move without feeling like I would passout and feeling nauseous but was prescribed something at 16 weeks and had to take it my entire pregnancy or I'd feel sick af ..at around 39 weeks I cut my dose in half as I noticed I would still feel okay after a bit of time had passed from the time I normally would take them at and now at 40+6 weeks I haven't taken them for 4 days and 2 of the which I've woken up feeling awful ..very nauseous

Avatar

B6 and unisom! Lifesaver

Avatar

That nausea really sucks it was horrible for me. 3 months straight in and out the hospital for fluids couldn't keep anything down. Until around Thanksgiving I was back to normal.

Avatar

He your doctor to prescribe some anti sickness tablets

Avatar

Feeling your pain.. 4.5 months of that myself. The only thing that helped me was distraction of fun friends on the phone in my ear

Avatar

I had horrible morning sickness till 23 weeks. Honestly I tried just about everything and nothing really helped besides some low dose anti nausea pills. But even then sometimes those didn’t do justice. I did ginger ale and that’s helped with heartburn at night.

Avatar

Canada dry and tums have helped me. Not completely but it definitely helps. I've also discovered that the ginger shots I take from Walmart help. Anything ginger I guess.

Avatar

I had morning sickness all day everyday through my first pregnancy. It's a terrible feeling!
Good news is there is medication that your Dr can prescribe for te nausea. But TBH I would make chicken broth first thing in the morning with a couple of soda crackers. It's not the most appealing thing to wake up to but it helped.

Avatar

Have you tried nausea bands? They're like very large bracelets I loved them! X

Tips...
Wish I new🤣
I lived on solo and chips for 9 months anything else I threw up

And you have a 3 yr old,.my God how the fk do you cope...your strong

I was bearly coping and I hadn't had him yet.

Avatar

You can try reflexology. Here’s an ig that talks about it noyskincare she just did a post on this.

Avatar

Ritz crackers help me

Avatar

I take unisom and b6 before bed every night and it's VERY helpful, it tapers off by the end of the day but overall MUCH better than it was without it

Avatar

Preggy pops helped me sooo much

Avatar

I have hyperemesis and the only thing that helps is anti sickness medication. I would speak to a doctor if it’s so bad you can’t keep anything down or eat. I was vomiting 20+ times a day and now I have constant nausea xx

Avatar

Ice lollies always helped me, I needed something cold and the flavour on the lollies aren’t that strong which is actually in our favour for once! I also found keeping the window open even if you’re cold, wear extra layers because that fresh air will work wonders!

Avatar

This sounds like me in my first pregnancy and I'm terrified of it happening again with an actual additional kid to take care of! I'm so sorry. I tried all the tricks, bracelets, mom pops, ginger in all forms, unisom and that other med like clockwork every single night. The only thing that actually made me slightly more functional was Zofran.

Avatar

I been nauseous all day every day 😩

Avatar

That’s me now just slowly dying everyday 😩

Avatar

I had hyperemesis from weeks 6 through to 16, and the ONLY thing that made me functional to teach, let alone EAT and Keep fluids down, was Ondansetron (Zofran). My only regret was not getting onto it sooner and instead trying to push through it... I lost 3 kilos in 2 weeks 😢

Avatar

I also have a 3 year old and a one year old and this is my 3rd pregnancy.. nothing will cure my nausea. Its relentless all day everyday. I suck on ice lollies when i get at my worse but otherwise i keep paddling until hopefully it calms down!!xx

Avatar

I am in the same boat as you & am seriously miserable 5 out of 7 days a week. I’ve never been through this with any of my other pregnancies and it is definitely taking a massive toll on me. My dct prescribed B6 and unisom. Fingers crossed they with 🤞🏽

Avatar

I got anti sickness tablets of the doctor my sickness was so bad Untill I started taking them xxx

Avatar

I had to get anti sickness tablets to be able to function without the constant nausea and tears in my eyes. They have caused a back up on the other end but id rather that than my head in the toilet all the time. I take my hat off to you, this is my first, you are a super woman going through morning sickness with little ones at home! X

Avatar

Unisom. Half a pill 3x a day Saved me. Good luck I know it’s a horrible feeling but it will get better. Hang in there! And try not to have an empty tummy. Xoxo

Avatar

I also threw up most of the day and couldn’t keep anything down during the most of my pregnancy. My doctor prescribed me Zofran. I think you have to wait until a certain time in the pregnancy because it could cause a miscarriage. I would check with your obgyn. I had to take it everyday day until I delivered.

Avatar

Talk to your OB about it. My doc gave me meds to help me with my all day nausea. And it helped so much!!

Avatar

That was me!! I could hardly leave my bed unless it was to the bathroom to throw up. I lost 20 pounds from not being able to eat and constantly throwing up.
Zofran has been helping with the vomit but I’m still nauseas every damn day. Ugh.
Also every time I eat I have the absolute worst after taste in my mouth that just sticks around unless I brush my teeth. Even sometimes I get an after taste from my toothpaste. Anyone else have that?

Avatar

Same!! And I feel I been sooo short tempered not engaged with my one year old and I have so much mom guilt over that

Do active babies in the womb become active newborns?

I had my 40 week ultrasound yesterday (on my due date) and the doctor mentioned how active my baby is. Curious as to your experiences regarding if your baby was active in the womb, are they likely to be active when they’re newborn? 😊

Early Labour?

I’m 34 weeks today, since 3am I’ve been having irregular cramping which becomes quite intense and has caused me to vomit. I’ve also had diarrhoea. Could I be in early labour or could I just have a bad stomach? I feel generally well in myself

7 w post c-section running

When is it ok to start running again? Health visitor advised to wait longer before running but did anyone start at 7 weeks and how?
I know I won't be running marathons any time soon and probably have to start back at a couch to 5k but when?! I'm getting restless legs! Advice please

Movements at 31 weeks

Does anyone else feel like their movements are more subtle since being further along in the pregnancy? I can feel my baby moving inside my belly but I don't feel the movements as "strong" when I put my hand on my belly. Not sure if it's because they've changed from "kicking" to "rolling" movements.

Anyone else feel the same?
