How much does your 10 week baby eat?

So I went to the health visitor today and she asked how much I feed him I said I offer him 6oz bottles but he usually drinks 5oz, sometimes 4oz and maybe once or twice a day 6oz. Her response ‘oh no 6oz is way too much, you should only be doing 4oz bottles” but even on the tin of milk it recommends his age to be given 6oz. I know they’re supposed to be the professional but only giving him 4oz every time he would be hungry still so just wondering what everyone else is feeding their babes. He’s not even a chunky baby just tall

Hi 👋🏻 so my 10 week old has 180ml bottles, he doesn’t always drink the full bottle but we do offer that little bit more as he does sometimes take it

My baby is 10 weeks tommorow and eats around 5oz everytime but she looks very well fed 🙈😅 every baby is different I think just keep doing what you're doing 🥰

My 6 week old is on 6oz, she’s talking shite. Sometimes my little boy will take 6, 5 or 4 depending on how hungry he is.

My HV advised you can’t overfeed them, they’ll let you know when they’re full and when they’re hungry. I’d honestly keep doing what you’re doing! ❤️

My 10 week daughter is on 5-6oz bottles. My HV said that was fine.

My 8 week old is on 5oz every 3-4 hours and she’s fine, usually has 4 or 5. Health visitor said she’s doing well and baby will let you know if they’re full or hungry!
Do what YOU need to do mama xxx

My 7 week old drains 7oz bottles. He often has an 8oz bottle on a morning. He is never sick either xx

My 10 week old has 6oz every 3 hours!

Thank you everyone, makes me feel a lot better. I was quite taken back when she said that as she made me feel like I’m doing it wrong but I will continue to do as I’m doing he’s happy and healthy 🤍

My 10 week old is on 5-6oz bottles every 4-5hrs. She is also only small x

Avatar

My baby is 9 weeks 4 days and she’s on 6oz but this morning she managed 7oz and three hours later she drank 4oz. They’re growing! If they’re hungry then they’re hungry you can’t debate that. My baby is also more taller then chunkier, I wouldn’t worry too much about it! You know your baby and if his happy and healthy that’s all that matters x

All my midwives and health visitors and the hospital midwives told me there isn't a set amount for babies but to feed on demand, basically however mich baby wants

Avatar

My little girl is 11 weeks and is on 6oz every 4 hours but she can easily clear 7oz when she’s hungry. I would keep doing what you’re doing xx

Avatar

My boy is 10 weeks Wednesday and he’s on 6oz and completely fine , I wouldn’t worry

Avatar

My 11wk old drinks 4/5 bottles of 4.5oz expressed breastmilk and 2/4 bottlesnof 6oz formula every 2-3hrs. Doesnt always finish the 6oz but any less, He would go hungry. Every baby is different. If your baby drinks that amount and is happy, thats all that matters. The HV usually just go by the books moretime x

My 9 week old has 7oz

Avatar

My 9 week old is on 6oz mostly only takes 5 but sometimes a bit more x

Avatar

My 11 wk old is on 7 oz every 4 hours and was advised by HV to give that much, I was told if she drinks 5oz offer 6, if she drinks the 6 offer 7 🤷‍♀️

Avatar

My 7 week old has 5 oz every 4 hours and occasionally a 6oz when she is really unsettled.. she clearly wants it! She isn’t chunky but is long. I would have a seriously cranky baby if I only gave 4oz!

Avatar

My 10 week old little boy is eating exactly the same as yours. Had HV come today and she said its very rare to overfeed a baby on breast or formula and wasn't concerned 🤷🏽‍♀️ I wouldn't worry he looks healthy to me 🙂

Avatar

My boy is 9 weeks and only has 4oz every 3-4 hours. Sometimes he only drinks 2-3oz but if hungry he can have 5oz but thats quite rare! X

Avatar

Fred now has 5 bottles a day of 7oz, before it was a lot more 😂 our health visitor isn’t concerned and ultimately says to be led by him so I would do that and not worry 🥰

Avatar

Health visitors all seem to give different advice. I’d take their words with a pinch of salt!

Avatar

My 8 week old has 5/6oz bottles every 4 hours and has for about 3 weeks now. At his 6 week check the GP said his weight was good, he isn't gaining percentiles so to just give him what he wants x

Avatar

I've just upped my 11 week old to 7oz because he was draining 6oz bottles. He doesn't always finish them but my HV said if he drinks too much he'll just sick a bit up and it's nothing to worry about. As someone said above, be led by your LO, he looks happy and healthy so just go with it 😊 x

Avatar

2-3 oz every 2 hours for my 12 week old. But she has cmpa and reflux so affects her feeding

Avatar

My little boys 6 weeks been having 6oz every 4 hours since 4 weeks they’ll only take as much as they want or their sick 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Avatar

I think he looks fabulous and he should eat as much as he needs. If he would've been breast feeded, you would have no idea about the quantity... but that's only my opinion 🤷

Avatar

Mine said if she’s hungry listen to her and I agree. Like you I make up 6oz and sometimes she doesn’t drink it all and I can tell she isn’t over feeding

Avatar

Mine is 9 weeks old.. she varies from 4-6oz every 3-4 hours of expressed breast milk and only had about 3-5oz of formula at night.. every baby is different and so like others just feed what he wants he looks super!! Xx

Avatar

My 11 week old has been drinking 8/9 oz bottles for weeks! Every baby is different xxx

Avatar

My 9 week old takes 5oz lol don't listen to your HV just listen to your baby xx

Not sure what’s wrong- 5months

Has anyone experienced any of the below problems with their baby?
He’s always a happy baby so this is completely not him. He’s a terrible sleeper but now it’s worse, if it could.

He’s was EBF but now on formula for the last 2 weeks. 2 days in a row now he’s vomitted a lot of milk out everywhere in the evening and just before bed.
For example I was walking around the room with him around 18:45 and it just came out of no where everywhere.

He’s very miserable and takes ages to get to sleep. Crying lots.
He’s been dribbling a lot, flushed one cheek but I can’t see any teeth coming.

All night he just won’t settle in his cot. Sometimes just starts crying hysterically and I can’t settle him at all.

A very tired mama.

Any advise on what it could be?

Help

My 5 week old is always up from 1am every hour grunting and squeaking and just won’t sleep. I end up having to bring him with me and I’m worried I’m creating a rod for my own back. I’m exhausted. First half of the night he’s okish. But from 1/2 it’s absolute hell. He farts a lot then as well but I just dunno what to do. Last night was the worst it’s been.

When do I drop the dream feed?

14 weeks old currently has last awake bottle at 7pm, then is asleep by 8ish downstairs.
Carry her up and she usually stirs so ive been giving her 5oz dream feed.which she drains
Then she is up at 2-3am for another feed and goes back down till 6/7am ish.

When do I up her oz bottles throughout the day and drop the dream feed?

She currently has 5oz bottles..80% of the time drains them, sometimes only has a little snack

Pregnancy insomnia??!

Hey, I’m 28 weeks and this is my 3rd baby. For the past 2 weeks I am able to get to sleep fine but really struggling with 3-4am wake ups. Once I wake up I cannot get back to sleep, meaning come 9-10am I am absolutely exhausted. Has anyone gone through this and is able to shed some tips on what might help

Is there any correlation between sleeping through the night and types of feeding?

Did your baby age 0-6months sleep through the night, 6 hours or more, and how were they fed? It always see like formula fed babies sleep through the night sooner than breastfed babies.
