Im just a little confused about what to pump with and what bottles i need for that pump. Do i put thise bottles directly into the fridge for my partner to do a night time feeding?
Do i transfer that milk from bottles into storage bags? If so, how long does it last?
I feel like the concept of breastfeeding makes sense but i dont understand pumping and storage & what tools i need & how it all works together.
If you couldn’t breastfeed that morning or something, then you need to pump from both breasts into bottles and store those in the fridge?
If anyone can give me some guidance that would be amazing, or a link to a video they found helpful or anything, id really appreciate it! :))

Hey there seen your post and thought id try to give some quick advice:) it depends on what pump brand you buy i have never dealt with anything other then medela , if you CHOSE to you can buy the medela bottles and they can attach right to your pump. I have always used avent bottles wich do not work with a medela pump. When storing breast milk you usually arent storing it in a bottle. Although you can if youd like. Usually you would use breast milk storage bags! You can also hook these breast milk storage bags straight to your pump and pump directly in to it and then just store it immediately. Breast milk should not be atored in the refrigerator for more then 24 hours and no longer then 6 months in the freezer unless deep froze! I think i got that freezer part right i could be wrong there i have never had to freeze mine for very long. Anyway i hope this helps even a little bit. If youd like you can message me! 💜

So I breastfeed and use a haakaa when I am with my son (who’s about 3 months) and you can build up a little of a supply that way with your Haakaa but when I am away from him I will try to pump for the times he feeds. I use a motif Luna pump and it works great for me! I tend to store my milk in these storage bottles that I got from the hospital and lactation consultants. But you could totally use regular bottles or bags if you want too. I just make sure to date it when I pumped or expressed the milk so I know. My lactation consultant told me for storing breast milk, use the 5-5-5 rule. 5 hrs in room temp, 5 days in the fridge, and 5 months in the freezer unless it’s a deep freezer which I think can go up to 12 months. In the beginning, I build up my freezer supply by pumping extra or my haakaa which is how I got most of my freezer stash. I use the bags then to store milk in the freezer.
