Wow being induced is a long process.

All I’m saying is bring loads of snacks and have all your food delivery apps downloaded 🤣

I went in to be induced on a Thursday. Had baby on Sunday and went home on Monday! I brought a big suitcase with me containing mine and baby’s stuff on Thursday and a pillow for comfort. The first nurse we saw said “wow are you going on holiday” I thought what a horrible lady! Now I’m glad I brought the massive suitcase and if I ever have a baby again I’ll definitely try finding an even bigger one!

Girl, at 39 weeks I developed preeclampsia so I wasn’t able to eat anything and because I was on medication through IV they told me that I wasn’t allowed to even get up and pee lol but I did. they tried everything but eventually had to give me an emergency C-section because the babies heart rate kept dropping every time I had a contraction.

Avatar

I was so lucky with my induction, I went in at 8am , gave birth to my first at 5pm. I wish you all the best and everything gose as smoothly as birth can be xx

Avatar

I had a failed Induction 20hours on the drip ended in emergency C-section was in for 3 days after so 6 days in total x

Avatar

I was lucky I was Induced at 10am and had baby by 10.32pm good luck xx

Avatar

Not always! I arrived at the hospital at 9pm for my induction and gave birth at 2:30am. They didn't even start the induction meds until almost 12am, so it was really only 2.5 hours total.

Avatar

Don't they offer epidural when it's to much lain after induction?

Avatar

Oh... i am getting induced next week on Friday.😮‍💨

Avatar

I was induced on Friday evening and baby girl was born Saturday evening. We were luckily and honestly the most painful thing for me was them taking that balloon out of my vagina 😂 I made it to 7cm without the epidural but baby girl gave a big kick and my water broke, after that it was unbearable. If you are planning to do an unmedicated birth I heard it’s harder with being induced because of the pitocin. I had a wonderful induction and wouldn’t change a thing! Successful vaginal birth and goodness me do I love an epidural 😂

Avatar

Mine was 5 days 😩 I thought I would be in and out 🤣

Avatar

Mine wasn’t long at all. Went in 6pm on Thursday evening and baby girl was born 12pm Friday afternoon. Active labour started around 7am. Went from 1cm-10cm in 2 hours! I was expecting a long process but was surprised by how quickly and smooth it was

Avatar

Mine was long too! Went in on a Sunday and had my daughter on Wednesday morning

Avatar

I wasn’t allowed to eat anything and I had so many snacks 😩🤷‍♀️

Avatar

Mine was long! Went in on the Monday and then had LG on the Friday via emergency c-section.

At 39 weeks my doctor felt induction would be the blessed option for me since I was at risk of developing preeclampsia(mom had it with me). Got to the hospital 7pm Wednesday and around 9am Thursday I was 5cm dilated but didn’t seem to be dilated past that and with every contraction my babies blood pressure would drop a little so we ended doing c-section and my baby girl was born at 12:31pm perfect and healthy❤️

Avatar

Lol my induction only lasted about 11.5 hours but I have heard it cam be easily 24 hours or longer

Avatar

I was induced a week after due date and then in labor for 4 whole days...

Avatar

Mine was 12hours from being induced.

Avatar

I was induced at 41+4. I had 2 failed pessarys. I ended up having a c section at 42+1. I never made it in to labour and my cervix was facing towards the back, they couldn't reach it or anything. I wish I knew before so I didn't waste my time 🤣

Avatar

i was induced at 2am and had him a little after noon that day! i wasn’t at a 2 until 10 and i was on and off with sleep so i woke up at noon and they checked me and he came shortly after. I overall had no issues with being induced!

Avatar

What they let you eat? No fair. I starved. I was not allowed food because the stuff can cause you to go into really hard labour and you might need surgery.

Avatar

Developed signs of preeclampsia at 37 1/2 weeks, Admitted Monday morning, delivered 10:30pm Wednesday. I was allowed to eat up until Tuesday dinner (5pm). Such a long process

Avatar

Mine legit took a week of different inductions before I was in actual active labour

Heart murmur

Took my 4 month old to the GP yesterday for something unrelated and when checking him over they heard a heart murmur. That didn’t say too much and scheduled another GP appointment for next week. Just wondering if any other mummas babies have had one and what their journeys were/if baby just grew out of it. Thank you x

UK Mums: If you had an assigned midwife for your first pregnancy, but not your 2nd. Were you a bit disappointed?

For my first pregnancy I was blessed with having an assigned midwife that I saw every appointment. She was absolutely amazing, so I guess I was spoiled in that sense. This pregnancy, I see a different midwife every appointment and I am a bit disappointed. Before anyone jumps on my back I know it is not guaranteed to have an assigned midwife. It is just hard when each midwife answered my question differently at each appointment and it took the epilepsy clinic (was referred due to having seizures in the last) to give me the actual answer. I also keep getting told that if I have any general questions to contact MAU, but I always thought they were there for urgent matters? Anyways sorry for rambling, I am just a person that feels at ease with consistency 😭

Burnout

I have the odd day (like today) where I feel completely wiped out, without energy, physical especially, even if I had we good night sleep. I try entertaining baby as much as I normally do but it's a lot! Don't know if it's burnout or what.. will mention to gp in case I have some deficiency but again it's not everyday. Baby is only 4 months, am I too old?? And we'd like another at some point 🙈 don't know how mums of multiples do it

First time leaving the house with newborn

Has anybody managed to step outside since the baby arrived? We were considering starting super local, 10 min by car to somewhere where we can go on a pram walk or cafe. But we were wondering if this is safe, given the baby has no vaccines yet. What’s everyone doing?
