My cousin couldn’t use the stairs for two weeks and slept upright on the sofa. I used the stairs the following day but took it slowly one at a time. I think everyone is different!

Stairs were fine for me if I took my time with them and made sure I kept on top of pain relief, the recommended paracetamol and ibuprofen wasn’t enough for me so I had to get naproxen prescribed

You just have to be careful and go slow. My daughter was in nicu for 3 weeks so I had to travel to the hospital everyday to see her and went up and down stairs to get out of my appt. It definitely flared up the pain but if you have no other choice just take your time.

Yea you’ll be fine to use the stairs as it doesn’t use your tummy muscles. Just take it easy and don’t carry baby up and down for the first week or so just to be on the safe side

I had a c-section last month, and I have to climb up 2 flights of steep stairs to get to my apartment, and another stair to get to the bedroom. I was fine, just had to go up sideways while holding the railing. You'll be fine, just take it nice and slow, and don't carry anything for a while.

Yep I could

I live in a town house, so 2 sets of stairs also, and I just kept a basket of spare clothes downstairs. And kept it topped up. But I found the stairs much easier than I was expecting. It was harder sitting up in the morning, than the stairs.
Just remember, you can only carry the weight of your baby for the first 6 weeks, although having two may be difficult. But hopefully you'll have someone to carry one baby, until you have the strength and get used to carrying both together.
Get up and walk around, as best as you can. Don't just sit and have bed rest, it's not good for you. I was up and out walking round the shops on day 4

Take your time and only do stairs a couple times a day. They are more wearing than you think

I live on the top floor flat so straight after my c section I had to go up steps to get into my home. Unless you 100% have to I would avoid them as much as you can. I mean I made it up and down, it just took me about 5 - 10 mins 😩

Avatar

Yeah you will be fine just take it slow. I just made sure I had a changing station on each floor and enough of everything I needed so I didn’t need to go up and down more than necessary

I couldn’t only because my legs were super swollen for a few weeks

Thanks ladies !! 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

Personally I was worried about the stairs but when I got home that was the easy bit I found it a lot more difficult to sit up in bed and stand for long periods of time especially in the shower, however take your pain killers regularly they really help I noticed such a difference after the 1st week I'm nearly 12 months PP and mostly healed now x

Oh and best of luck of birthing your babies ❤️

I waited two days to go upstairs post c-section. When I did I went gradually and put one foot on a two, then the other foot on the same step. It worked well x

I was in hospital for 2 nights. I couldn’t use the stairs for the first 2 night home. I forced myself up the stairs after that. Very slowly. My bedroom is also up to flights of stairs.

Thanks so much for your comments/advice 🙏🏽💖

Wish I could offer more advice. In general just be kind to yourself as you recover.

It’s not a good idea but it you have to walk side up not front up. And super slow. Make sure someone is behind you at all times. It can tear internal stitches if you over do it on the stairs

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Baby names

My daughter‘s name is valentýna and I’m struggling to find other nice girl and boy names beginning with V I’ve got a few and I’ve got loads that aren’t beginning with V, but I feel like I wanna go for all vs and I also love girl and boys names that match so because my daughter’s name is valentýna I would love to call my son Valentino my husband does not agree 😃

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

Almost 37 weeks + told to do another growth scan

I just had my second to last doctor’s appointment this morning, and my OB told me she wants me to do another growth scan because my belly is measuring small. She says it’s probably just because I’m a smaller woman, but they like to be safe. It’s hard to hear though, since I just did one a couple months ago.

I did this with my firstborn around this time of pregnancy, so I do think I just carry smaller (even though I don’t feel like I look “small” at all). My first baby was 6lbs 15oz when she was born at 41 weeks + 2 days. I’m having this baby at 39 weeks on April 7. I hope she’s still at least 6lbs.

Anyone have any stories similar to this?
