I have been the exact same with Aptamil! The ready made is great but the powder has been causing my boy so much wind. Have switched back to the ready made x
I tried my boy on the aptamil powder but he hated it. Its like it was poison... So I had to go back on the ready to drink which he loves. Its so expensive though.. unless anyone knows where to get it cheaper? Ive given up with powder formula.... This whole waiting for 30 mins for the water to cool is not possible at 3am when he's crying... Am I missing something?
Im using kendamil and the perfect prep machine. Alongside the swooshing technique and not shaking the formula is pretty smooth. I did make the mistake of shaking it to begin with.
I am using kendamill and find it very frothy even when I swirl it rather than shaking but I have found its more frothy when I make it as opposed to giving it to her x
@Suz make the bottles like you would the prep machine. Do a hot shot with the powder and keep cooled boiled water in a jug ready to mix for night time feeds.
I found the same with aptamil. My daughter has a milk allergy so now is on prescribed milk BUT...if its giving your baby wind then either change formula....I found SMA to be much better or if you don't want to upset their delicate tummy get some dentinox drops...that will disperse the bubbles.
@Kenni yes. Make with hot boiling water.
@Carolyn I’m using ready made now too. But it’s expensive to continue and really we shouldn’t have to do that 😩😩
@Suz agreed. I’m now on ready made. But so expensive 😩😩😩 we shouldn’t have to do that
@Kelly thank you. He had SMA in hospital and he got hives. 🤦🏻♀️ I’ll look at dentinox drops 😊
@Kelly how much does prescription milk cost? I’m going back to gp Tuesday and this maybe an option. But I’m thinking it’ll be about £40 a week 😩😩😩 which is £5 more a week than staying with the ready made milks 🤦🏻♀️
@Charlie do you find Kendermil causes wind or looks like ‘air bubbles’ are near the teat when feeding? Was thinking of switching to them. But won’t if it’s that same thing. I might have to take the hit and buy the ready made only 😩
@Helen dentinox drops were a life saver for me in the early days until we found she had the milk allergy. Prescription is free in the UK if they are diagnosed with an allergy. My daughter had other symptoms which I thought was colic but she had green nappies and unsettled as well as sick after her bottles. I had to jump through several hoops before they prescribed the milk but I didn't take no for an answer!!
@Kelly I thought prescription milk was still payable like £17 for a small 400g tub? I was buying the lactose free one and that’s £9 a tub 🤦🏻♀️ Didn’t realise prescription formula is free 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

No...its the same as a standard prescription to my knowledge....ive never had to pay for it.
I’m using cow and gate and the milk is always really smooth. I don’t shake the bottle, I swirl the formula and water together and gently tip it back and forward. If you shake it’ll create more froth x
I believe the Aldi mamia milk is the same ingredients as aptamil and doesn’t go frothy! I’ve just had to change to kendamil though as mamia/ aptamil doesn’t agree with my babies belly xx
@Helen yeah there was a few air bubbles tbh but I have had to take mt lg off kendamill because she was very sick on it.. ready made will be different to the powder
@Helen I will say though where I live kendamill is near impossible to get always sells out really quick if you stick to it kendamill do a subscription on their website
I had the same with apatamil and found it made my baby more gassy. I am using SMA now so much better or try kendamil.
@Pam SMA gave him hives. I’ve got an appointment with a pediatrician on Tuesday to check for an allergy The ready made milk isn’t as bad but it’s still not removing all symptoms 🙁
Oh no @Helen change her formula that will help. Try kendamil it’s supposed to be good, and organic
Are you mixing it with hot boiling water? If not- try that- mix with boiling water in a glass mug- feed to baby once its cooled down. See if that helps
