DVT 😣

Just got back from hospital and just been diagnosed with a blood clot in my lower calf (right leg) . Have to inject Fragmin for the next 3 months and I’m so scared for the birth now. They told me if I go into labour and it hasn’t been 24 hrs since my last injection I won’t be allowed a epidural to help with pain relief or to be used for a c section too. If emergency c section takes place I will have to be put under completely and not hear my boys first cries! I am absolutely heart broken. Just wish my luck was different because I have had such a painful pregnancy due to my condition and was hoping for the birth I always dreamed of. Just need mummy’s to help lift my spirits šŸ˜žšŸ˜žšŸ˜ž

What condition do you have? Sorry you've had a hard pregnancy I have also.

Awful about the blood clot sorry to hear and your birthing options being narrowed down for you.

Hope everyone's happy and healthy in the end xx

Hey hun I’m severely hyper mobile so I over extend everything and with the pregnancy hormones rushing through my body has relaxed everything even more, I had no choice but to be signed off from work 2 months before maternity leave started 😣 the weight I’ve gained too in the last trimester hasn’t helped at all with blood clot which they also made mention of today, which that is also getting me down,. No matter how healthy I eat I cannot stop the weight from going on! I honestly cannot wait to get him here now . Sorry to hear you haven’t had a very nice experience too lovely and thank you for commenting xx

You’re not alone I got diagnosed with pulmonary embolism.. blood clot on my lung. Also on blood thinners until and after birth and with previous history of PPH I’m bricking it. Just concentrating on the end result which will be holding my little boy, here if you need a chat

what symptoms did u have for this if u don’t mind me asking x

it’s okay was a bit random to be honest. Was just having a normal day and I got some chest pain when I was breathing, felt almost like pulled muscle pain but every time I breathed … hr was also pretty high on my Apple Watch when I was just sat down. Went to A&E and they did bloods which came up sketchy. Got cleared for DVT so had another scan on my lungs which showed the clot…. 6 days to diagnose but they put me on blood thinners from when I went to A&E ā€œjust incaseā€

ok amazing. Thanks for that. I have been experiencing a bit of chest / sternum pain. (Also tender
To touch /press) and had the pain come in waves. Only way I can describe it. Not enough to stop me in my tracks but enough to notice it. Happens a few times a day been a couple
Of weeks now x

am glad they picked it up for you and ur being treated ā¤ļø

if I’m honest I felt like I was being over dramatic so many times over those 6 days so my advice is get any chest pain checked… for your own peace of mind more than anything as well x

thanks hon. I’m at the day assessment tomorrow for my
Blood pressure check so I will mention it to the midwife then

So sorry to hear this. Having a DVT alone is scary. I had one after a long haul flight a few years ago and had to stay longer to get the drugs to work and start minimising it before flying back. I saw a video ultrasound of my clots twice (when diagnosed and before flying) and the meds really do work. You’re def doing the safest thing possible, it’s just the higher level thinners mean they have to take precautions. If you have no reason to anticipate a c-section you still have a good chance of not having one. I’m on weaker thinners due to my past DVT and I’m being treated as low risk. I’ve been doing a hypnobirthing course and that can help all kinds of labour. The science shows it can impact a lot of aspects as you’re trying to aid the hormones you naturally produce that are needed for birth so if you haven’t already it could be worth a look into and give you something to try that could give you a chance to impact needing a c-section or epidural. Have everything crossed for you!

Heart murmur

Took my 4 month old to the GP yesterday for something unrelated and when checking him over they heard a heart murmur. That didn’t say too much and scheduled another GP appointment for next week. Just wondering if any other mummas babies have had one and what their journeys were/if baby just grew out of it. Thank you x

UK Mums: If you had an assigned midwife for your first pregnancy, but not your 2nd. Were you a bit disappointed?

For my first pregnancy I was blessed with having an assigned midwife that I saw every appointment. She was absolutely amazing, so I guess I was spoiled in that sense. This pregnancy, I see a different midwife every appointment and I am a bit disappointed. Before anyone jumps on my back I know it is not guaranteed to have an assigned midwife. It is just hard when each midwife answered my question differently at each appointment and it took the epilepsy clinic (was referred due to having seizures in the last) to give me the actual answer. I also keep getting told that if I have any general questions to contact MAU, but I always thought they were there for urgent matters? Anyways sorry for rambling, I am just a person that feels at ease with consistency 😭

Burnout

I have the odd day (like today) where I feel completely wiped out, without energy, physical especially, even if I had we good night sleep. I try entertaining baby as much as I normally do but it's a lot! Don't know if it's burnout or what.. will mention to gp in case I have some deficiency but again it's not everyday. Baby is only 4 months, am I too old?? And we'd like another at some point šŸ™ˆ don't know how mums of multiples do it

First time leaving the house with newborn

Has anybody managed to step outside since the baby arrived? We were considering starting super local, 10 min by car to somewhere where we can go on a pram walk or cafe. But we were wondering if this is safe, given the baby has no vaccines yet. What’s everyone doing?
