Ickle Bubba Rotator 360 Spin Group 0+/1/2/3 Car Seat

Looking for our next car seat and wondering if anyone has this and can give me some feedback? Does it roatate easily? Can it face forwards from 15months? Does it fit easily? Thanks in advance!

It's a very minimally tested seat.
You don't want to ff baby at 15m if you value car safety, they're best rf until at least 4 when their bones fuse properly.

If you're set on a spin seat, the joie spin safe is the most highly rated for safety. However, if you are looking for ease, a 25kg seat has lower sides so is easier to put baby in. If baby is 9kg+ I'd recommend the max way plus, if baby is less than 1 though I'd recommend the avionait sky

Thank. Ideally spin but more want an every stage to be honest. A friend has recommended the Joie every stage so will have another look at the Joie one.

Avatar

Every stage seats all fall down in one area or another. A seat cannot be built to be highly safe for all ages, it just doesn't happen.

If you got a 25kg seat, it would last most kids until 7yrs ish. Then you get a dedicated HBB, some very highly rated ones are around £60. So you only ever need 2 seats, and the one when baby is younger has passed the strictest safety test in the world.

I don't rate the joie every stage at all. Performs badly ff, harness is incredibly stiff to do up and can be hard to get a good fit on baby

Following as I am in the same position.
Want a 1/2/3 and a rotating one

If you want a good spin seat the joie ispin 360 performs very well in crash test and lasts rear facing until 19kg or 105cm whichever happens first. We love ours

Thanks ladies. We have one now that goes to 15 months but he's too long so it won't last that long. I will have a think about the posts above and a look at up to the around age 7 one. Don't want one that goes to just 4years as Don't want to buy a 3rd seat

Sophie, does that go to age 4 or is it older? Is there an option to face either way?

Avatar

Even the aged 7 one you'd then need a high back booster to get them to 12 years. Look into the britax maxway. Join car seat safety UK, the girls on there are fab. We've got a swivel sweat and I regret it so much, its so heavy and massive and I rarely use the turn function it's easier to just put baby in (shes 6 months) obviously I won't be forward facing before shes at least 4/5 as its not safe so I'll need another seat as shes high centiles. Don't be like me 😅 avoid the spin seats. X

Avatar

@Sam thanks- that's helpful to know about the spin. I was on the Facebook group one for a bit to get ideas. Yes, would still need one until he's big enough not to have one which is why keen for the every stage really.

Avatar

It goes to that weight and height not an age, as all 4 year olds are different. Yes you can face either way with it x

Avatar

@Sophie fab thanks. Yes my LO is very long so I think he'll be out before the 'rough age'.

Avatar

We have one and it's great! My baby is only 8 months but already 11+kg and he fits wonderfully. Only had it backwards facing, but it has a three different tilt positions as well as the 360 so is bloody brilliant

Avatar

@Hannah you know your baby Will have to use this with a seat belt rather than harness from about 3 onwards?

Avatar

@Hannah Brill! Thanks Hannah, That's really helpful! Helpful to know feedback from someone with one as well!

Avatar

@Jo no I did not! I will have to look into that. Have 2 years yet though so that's good.
Honestly, it saves my back so much effort I think it is definitely worth it for now!

Avatar

@Hannah we have a rotate currently and I really like it. My little one hates the car and planks to get in and then cries so in an ideal world I want to be able to try rotating at 15 months and a rotate. I'll do some more research but helpful to know 🙂

Avatar

@Hannah I always thought the same about spin seats, until I bought a minikid. The sides are so low its no effort whatsoever to get them in. My 17m old can climb in it herself (if I help her up into the car) and she's not a very physical child at all.
I now have 3 diff 25kg seats, 4 in total (one is a duplicate - I'm not nuts, I have 3 kids and 2 cars)

Avatar

@Catia thanks I'll have a look at those

Avatar

We got this car seat delivered today! X

Avatar

@Natalie let me know how you get kn on

Avatar

Hey! Just wondering how was your experience with this as I am currently looking into this

Avatar

No issues whatsoever! And it's super easy to spin :)

Is my child delayed ?

Recently had parent evening for my child (4 in June) and the teacher said she is not where she should be she does not know her shapes, letters or numbers.

My child is able to show me where shapes are on a poster for example if I said find the rhombus she would find it however if I i said name it she couldn’t,

On a number line if I said “find number 4 she would find it” but she is not able to count to 4 correctly but she could show on her hands 80% of the time.

She can recognise letters around 15 correctly but will not say the alphabet.

The teacher also mentioned she doesn’t hold a pen correctly but I have seen her hold a pen with pincer grip and use them in both hands correctly.

I’ll post an image of what educational based supplies we have in the Comments please tell me if we can add anything 🙂

Do you feel like your husband/ partner puts the same level of care into parenting, cooking, cleaning etc when it’s his “turn” in comparison to you?

I’m having such a hard time lately because it’s become so embarrassingly obvious that my husband just doesn’t care as much as I do. I feel like he compares himself to his own dad or other men in his life who walked out or do the absolute bare minimum so in his mind he’s excelling, and that watching his mom struggle as a single mom doing everything growing up has conditioned him to be almost blind to the labor of women like it’s just expected. I’ve talked to him about this multiple times and it will get better temporarily sometimes but not long at all

Advice?

I don’t feel like a good mom. I’m a mom but I don’t feel as present as I need to be. I have an addiction to my phone ever since my son passed. Growing up it’s how I distracted myself and it’s just gotten worse. I use to be on my phone every now and then before but now it’s constant almost. I still play with my toddler but I get bored easily and I don’t look forward to doing stuff. I’m a couch potato who scrolls. I hate it. I recognize it and I hate it. I don’t go out anymore unless needed besides outback. I don’t bake desserts anymore. I feel lazy. Yes I have a therapist but I never say what I need to when I’m there and I have to bring my toddler so it just doesn’t work out how I imagine.

I’m trying to be the best mom I can be but I struggle. I struggle so hard and at this point I am disappointed in myself because I imagined so much for our life and I can’t even be the mom I need to be. Even my mom who lived in the living room and didn’t play with us at least was a present mom. I checked out. I hate it.

Nothing can top Bluey, but...

What other shows do you watch with your kids? It doesn't have to be for very young children; they LOVE the movies Jaws and Jurassic Park. And i live the 90's entertainment from my youth. Shows like Wild Kratts and Stinky and Dirty hold their attention, but they need something new because when they search for shows themselves, they find the worst! The screen is rampant with brainrot, where are those hidden gems??

Traveling Preschool Idea

I have a fun idea and wonder if it would even be something people would pay for! Will you help me?

I’m thinking of a “traveling preschool classroom” that would to come to your neighborhood once a week. Would you attend with your child (age 3-5)? How much would you pay for this?

A class would take place at a park or an outdoor space in good weather or a library in the winters. I’d love to have the classroom be housed in an old school bus!

A class would include circle time to practice social skills, a story, free play time, and an activity. My thought is that an adult would attend with the child and the class would last 1-2 hours.
