Restless legs

Every night when I go to bed I have this very strange feeling on my legs, like I needed to move them or shake them. If I had a chance to go for a long walk during the day it doesn't happen as much but on week days between working full time and caring for my 3 year old there is no time to walk or exercise. Anyone else is experiencing a similar thing?

I get this a lot, had it since about 17 and it’s no better since being pregnant, they also get achy & feel really heavy! I usually have a magnesium/Epsom salt bath once a week and it keeps it away but having to do that twice since being pregnant! If I haven’t had one tho and it starts a couple of paracetamol do tend to ease it enough for me to fall asleep x

Restless leg syndrome, it drives me NUTS 😂😤

Best solution I've found is to either sit in a shallow bath of the hottest water you can stand, or just spray legs with super hot shower, just before bed.

Then I use Mio "lucky legs cooling gel".

This buys me about 30-60 mins to fall asleep before I feel the dreaded restless legs creep up again.

I will try the bath, although time for a bath feels like a luxury at the moment 😅

Take an antihistamine and it’ll stop immediately. I’ve suffered with it for years so feel your frustration! Xx

Oh I have this everytime I am pregnant. It’s the worst feeling ever. It literally makes me want to chop my legs off.

I found higher sugary food / sugary/fizzy drinks tended to make it worse for some reason (not sure if that was just in my head, but it’s what I noticed) so I try to avoid them (especially closer to the evening)…and magnesium spray. I then do sleep meditation at night to try and quickly get to sleep before I notice the feeling :-(

3 days until c-section & my anxiety is so bad

Planed cs after emergency cs. I know this will be “different”. I know I won’t have the added trauma/ stressors… yet, I’m still extremely anxious. It hit me yesterday after my last OB apt when they gave me pre-op packets etc. I couldn’t sleep last night, and I’ve been anxious all day. How did you calm yourself before going in?

What if my anxiety is so bad, they say they need to put me to sleep to do it? I don’t know, that’s probably not how they decide to do that, but I’m just freaking out tonight 😞

C section

For the women who have had a C-Section, how long did you take pain meds for?

Vaginal or c-section? Where’s your head at?

So many friends have started asking me what I’m thinking about birthing plan and to be honest I’ve not really thought about it (probably should at some point 🫣) A number of friends didn’t have great birthing experiences and ended up with emergency c-sections which got me researching planned ones despite it never previously being something I had considered.

I’m curious to see where other mums-to-be heads are at with this one & thoughts behind it? No judgement here! 🥰

Elective c section

When do you find out about your c section date? I’m 38 + 5 and still haven’t heard yet.

C section mamas - tummy and around the incision still tender?

I had my c section 3.5 weeks ago and generally I’m feeling good but if I touch or put any pressure on my stomach above my c section then it’s still pretty tender.

Do others have this?

Doula

Hello! I hired a doula at 5 weeks and I’m currently 31 weeks. I have not really connected with her and I have connected much more with my OBGYN.

I also recently found out she’s a Trump supporter which makes me concerned about her beliefs about women’s right to choose. This seems to be in direct conflict with what I believed Doula’s did (empowered women to be in control of their labors).

Has anyone had concerns about their doula in their third trimester and decided to go without. I have a super supportive husband who is a doctor at the hospital I’m delivering at. I also am hoping that my sister who lives abroad can make the delivery. I feel like with the two of them, I won’t need to doula. I just feel like after all this time with her, it’s strange we are still not comfortable with each other.

I’d love to hear folks thoughts. This is not an invitation to argue about politics. If you are a Trump supporter just keep it moving.
