At what age do you stop washing the babies clothes before first wear?

Just curious!

Never. I wash my clothing before first use as you don't know what's left on them from the factory, the conditions they've been stored/transported in or someone trying them on

Avatar

I always wash mine before I wear as well so probably will always wash his first

Avatar

Never, do it for anything new - all clothes inc mine, new bedding etc

Avatar

I only washed his for the first 6 months, if that. I definitely don’t wash mine before wearing them… way too much laundry for that 😅

Avatar

Think I only washed up to 0-3 months

Avatar

Always wash all new clothes, regardless of who they are for. Factories and warehouses are extremely dirty environments.

Avatar

I wash everything mine an the kids clothes

Avatar

I wasn’t the type to wash clothes I just bought unless they had a weird smell. Like clothes at Ross always smell strange. And Shein clothes too!
I rarely shop now but babies clothes are being washed first 🥰

Avatar

Always will, I wash my own before first use too

Avatar

I still do it with all our clothes. After watching a programme on how they’re made and what happens in the factories I always wash them 🤢

Avatar

I always do as their skin is the most sensitive organ.

I used to work at primark and the clothes are disgustingly unclean 🤮 smelly wet boxes and clothes picked off the floor and rehung. Grim. Never washed after dyeing (and you don’t know what water was used and where), handled by multiple people, shipped in crates overseas, stored in gross warehouses, hung up in store, touched by everyone, tried on by people, on the floor and rehung. 🤢 I’ll always wash cause working in primark haunted me 😂

Avatar

I’ve never done it haha

Avatar

Honestly, wash everything before using (not just clothes). A friend of mine got ring worm from some new clothes she bought 😫 you just never know!

Avatar

Never! I can’t stand smell from new clothes, also when I go shopping and when I see all that clothes on the floor, in the changing room, how man people touch that it’s awful! I’d NEVER EVER WEAR ANYTHING BEFORE I WASH IT.

Avatar

Never

Avatar

My son will be 4 and I still wash them before he wears them. I was anything first I get.

Avatar

Always wash any new clothing items before wearing

Avatar

Never for me too! I wash everything before wearing it. I always like my clothes to smell of clean laundry and I love it when my little one smells fresh and clean too even if it doesn’t last long 😂

Avatar

Always wash whatever comes from shops, i read that a lot of them are sprayed with flame retardant in the factories which is toxic. Not sure if true but you can be sure there are nasties on them from their journeys

Avatar

After she was born 🤣 no way I was washing all those gifts

So we washed the stuff we had like newborn and 0-3 sleepsuits and vests nothing else

Avatar

Always wash them. Tf

Avatar

Worked in retail for 5 years. Will never wear something without washing it. Unless there is no way ti wash before hand (concert, sporting event etc) even then I'm usually wearing something underneath

Avatar

I don’t think I will tbh. I have super sensitive skin and usually get a rash if I don’t wash my clothes first so I don’t want to risk it.

Contractions?

I have started having period pain cramping - that feeling when your period feels like it is starting. I have also had some sharp pains at the bottom of my bump. Are these likely to be contractions?

20 week scan - Measuring small

This is my second baby and she is measuring around 200g less than my first at her gestation (this baby 270, first baby 470), we were referred to speak to a doctor before even leaving the hospital today and then have a appointment next Tuesday and then on the 1st of may due to how small she weighs on the scan, the doctor was saying so much and now I'm terrified that she's too small, has anyone had a small baby? Or was told their baby was going to be small and have a good outcome? Ive been feeling her kick from around 18 weeks fully so shes strong just small...
