C-section booked for my birthday!

I had an appointment this afternoon to book in my c-section, and the only date available is my birthday! They’re fully booked several days before and after.

On one hand, it could be a nice distraction as I’m really nervous about the surgery, I’d have something to talk/laugh about with the theatre staff. Tea and toast post birth could be tea and birthday cake! But I feel a great deal of sadness that my child won’t have a special day of their own.

This sort of thing can’t be helped with spontaneous labour, but it’s a shame it’s likely to be the outcome of my planned c-section! 😕

Baby position

When my stomach tightens I can really feel the shape of the baby which is almost like a V. Two hard long lumps and a soft bit in the middle, I have no idea what position she’s in! Anyone got any ideas?

C section infection

Hello! I’m currently almost 6 weeks postpartum. For 3 weeks I’ve been dealing with an infection in my c-section wound and it just doesn’t seem to be healing. I’m on my second round of antibiotics and also have a steroid cream but the infection isn’t clearing up and I’ve now noticed that part of the wound has opened slightly. Did anyone else have issues like this and if so, what help to solve it eventually? I’ve convinced myslef I’m never going to fully heal!

Anyone going over their due date and considering an elective c-section?

I’m due to have a c-section on 40w+3d. Just got my date today and am feeling quite nervous!! If I go into spontaneous labour before, I would love to try vaginal birth - but I’m 39w+2d today and the baby seems rather comfortable where she is (no sign of labour). Basically I’d like to avoid an induction if she is overdue (for fear that it may lead to an emergency c-section / other complications). Is anyone in a similar situation, if so what’s your plan - to wait for spontaneous labour (till when?), induce, or have an elective c-section? For context, I’m a 33-yo FTM without any health issues so I think I’d be a bit gutted for not having attempted vaginal birth!
