I had an AMAZING experience at Mount Auburn. I have a friend who recommended it as she had all 3 of her babies there.

I delivered 2 of my babies at Mount auburn in 2018 and 2020 and had a wonderful experience. I saw the midwives so it may be a little different than if you see an OBGYN but overall I feel like they’re very patient focused. If you have a high risk pregnancy it may not be as good of a fit just because they only have a level II nursery but otherwise I highly recommend.

Hi! I rarely reply to these n notifications, but I just saw Mount Auburn Hospital, and had to reply! I had an incredibly amazing experience at Mount Auburn Hospital. The midwives and nurses there are incresobke and don’t see you as just a number. Now I’m not sure if you are going through the midwives at Mount Auburn or an OB but I can certainly account for the midwives at Mount Auburn Hospital, and will say it was a amazing experience. There was a moment during my labor where my baby’s heart rate lowered and they did call in an OB to monitor the situation until things went back to a safe place which I really appreciated all while keeping me calm yet informed on the situation. They also welcomed my Doula very openly and allowed her to have a say in my delivery method, and again just made me feel very comfortable and seen as a human and not just a “Patient“. Let me know if you want any other info I’m happy to chat more :-) can

Why would you deliver at mount auburn - a community hospital- when you have some of the the best medicine in the world within the MGB PARTNERS health system?

I delivered my first with midwives at Brigham and women’s and it was absolutely awful and ended up in an unnecessary c section because they push induction and intervention. Unless you have an actual medical complication you are better off at a small hospital where you are not a number. I had an incredible VBAC 3 months ago with the midwives at Mount Auburn. I wanted unmedicated and as natural as possible. They were super supportive of my decisions and wishes. I trusted that if intervention became necessary they would have been respectful of my autonomy and worked with me rather than just dictating orders to me. I ended up getting my natural birth. I had the baby within 20 minutes of arriving at the hospital. The drs and midwives at the Brigham were awful. My birth with my first felt like medical assault. They just did thing how they wanted and never discussed anything with me or bothered to get my permission.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences! I am shocked by all the negative experiences at other hospitals 🤯

because it’s a fantastic hospital with the lowest rates of c-section compared to MGB hospitals around

I just had the most fantastic birth at mt auburn with the midwives. Would 10/10 recommend going there to a friend (I drove across the city each time) and will be there to have my next kiddo.

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Newborn stage

Is anyone tired of doing the same thing everyday and being on a 2-3 hour schedule? It’s the same everyday and I feel like I’m losing my mind. It’s making me depressed even if I get out once a day. When does it get better? I feel like I’m just waiting for the next stage where it’s not just sitting around all day.
