I like Weleda. You can make your own body butter with a few simple ingredients like Shea butter, coconut oil, cacao butter and mct oil - melt down gently, allow to set in the fridge and then whiz up with a stick blender.
Thank you @KC I will def have a look at that! ♥️
I've done a few baby classes and they've all said you shouldn't be using wash / skincare stuff on babies. Apparently it can disrupt the development of their skin barrier or something? Pretty sure you should stick to warm water for the first few months but that's just what I've been told by midwives xx
I’m French and we swesr by mustela. You can buy online! To the point we even call the smell of those products “baby smell”. Do your research on the products still, but I know they’re great. For children they even do little perfumes 🥲 (of course not babies!)
No need to use anything for the first few months unless they have the need for it eg eczema and need a special cream. So you have time to look into options once they get here.
Thanks ladies 😊 I know I have time because he won’t need anything at first as his skin has natural moisture etc but I have really bad anxiety so want to get looking into things now for when he’s getting older. This has been a good starting point xx
Download the app “Yuka” and scan everything for a rating of how natural/toxic products are based on their ingredients! Started using it during my fertility journey as so many products are endocrine disrupters. It’s eye-opening once you start looking into it - I scanned some baby products in Boots the other week and Aveeno and the brand Nala came out on top and Johnson’s and My Little Coco were “poor”
Pure coconut oil and water only for the first months really x my little cococ and kokoso baby seem to be amazing amd natural x
Thanks @Beth and @Olga xx
I think it all depends on your baby's skin something that might work for others may not work for u would be good to test out maybe 2/3 and see what works. I'm going with either kokoso or Aveeno dermexa range.
https://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ Have you tried this? It's a database with thousands of skin care products and ratings for safety to health including baby skin care products. Maybe you will find some products that are available in the UK
