I don’t think they recommend electric pump for harvesting, but I’m not entirely sure. I’ve been hand expressing, I’m not making enough yet to electric express or use anything really x x

I really struggled harvesting by hand and, despite trying for ages over many days, I couldn’t get a single drop. Just used my Pippeta pump to try it out and got 9ml of colostrum in about 20 minutes using a combination of the massage and pump function!

Yep 3oz on my first attempt. I was shocked 😂😂

I feel like I need to get a pump now 😂 I got 1ml over 24 hours!!! Exhausting

i’ve been using my pump for collecting colostrum. i tend to get about 4ml from pumping for 15 mins as opposed the 30-40mins it would take by hand

haha same!

Yes, using my pump 10 mins each side getting about 5ml each time currently 😊

Yeah I used it with my first and would get between 5-7ml each night. I only pumped once a day, after a warm shower/compress and a massage x

Quick PSA

Don’t be a fool like me! Before you run upstairs to have a quickie with your husband make sure your baby monitor receiver is turned off so the whole rest of your house doesn’t hear ur shenanigans. 🫠🫠🫠

Bedtime Advice Please

Hi,
Im a first time mum to a 6 week old. I’ve seen a lot of people say their baby sleeps longer stretches than mine. Since she was born, in the evening we’ve put her down in her Moses basket in the living room until me and my partner go upstairs to bed. She’s waking up 3 times in the night. Would she be better at sleeping if I put her down in the next to me upstairs earlier in evening with baby monitor and get her in more of a routine every night?
I don’t know if I’m being stupid but I think maybe if she’s in more of a set routine sooner rather than later it would be best?

Bed time/ wake time

I have a five month old and really trying to figure out what time I should be putting her to bed. She wakes up at like 6:30am which is too early for me 😅

Any advice or mums who’ve figured it out?

Is my friend just spoiled or is she a terrible mother

I know that sounds harsh. But one of my best friends has changed since she married her husband who has money..

Shes due in May, doesnt seem excited about the baby at all. Talks about how she would never get pregnant again and would use a surrogate even tho shes had 0 real issues .. and surrogacy is hardly ethical. Regardless i dont judge it because its her choice.. now its added in with this other stuff im feeling otherwise.

She has a nanny, which i think is fine. We all deserve help! But now i found out the baby is going to be sleeping on an entirely different floor. IN THE NANNIES ROOM in a bassinet. The nanny will be doing all the “work” She says she never wants to hear the baby cry, she said she would never even let the baby in the bed to nurse… she’s wealthy beyond belief. Has everything she could want. I thought she would take motherhood seriously. Im not saying we all should struggle but this is hard for me to understand.. im not sure if it’s pregnancy hormones but shes acting like she doesnt even care about this child and only wants to do the “fun” stuff. Doesnt want to do diapers, treating this baby like its not a whole person. Says she will sleep train them as soon as she can and she doesnt give a f*** if the baby is crying for hours .. like it just does not seem to bother her? In hoping that things change when she her son.

Im struggling to stay close with her because i feel like shes now border-lining on neglect ? Am i wrong? Is this not crazy behaviour? And mind u this isnt the half of it !

I’m probably over thinking but my baby has always gone bed 9/10 woken up every 2 hours apart from past few days he’s slept till 2am and then done 4/5/6/7 😂 tonight he’s put himself to sleep at 7:15pm
No witching hour like normal just settled so I’ve put him in his next to me while sat here glaring at the monitor 😂😂 I’m so worried about how he will sleep tonight he’s 8 weeks on Friday. He’s way above his birth weight he’s a right chunk so I’m not worried about his feeding. He was born 7 pounds 13 he’s now 12 pounds probably a bit over that now as was weighed beginning of last week!

Dropping nap

Did anyone notice their lo sleeping better at night after dropping to 2 naps?

My son has always woken multiple times at night so I’m not expecting miracles but I’m also just hoping he will eventually be tired enough to sleep longer than 2hrs without needing a feed again. I know sleep association is also a factor but I believe in feeding before sleep to make sure he’s full and he’s never dead asleep before I put him down and I will sing/pat etc as well.

Occasionally we get 3 hrs by fluke, just wondering what others are doing but specifically the multiple wakers xx
