Gripe water vs Mylicon?

My baby has a lot of colic, hiccups and spits up… it looks like reflux so I’m all the natural stuff before medicating her. She is already taking Mylicon after every feed but didn’t notice a difference, so I’m planning to start gripe water. Anyone is using both as well? If so, how long it took to see a change in baby?

I use gripe water only... the first time used it, it took about a day to see change after that my baby wasn't fussy.

How do you administer gripe water to baby? I’m ftm and my baby girl has the same issues and I might just resort to it

I give it to my baby with a syringe. I give 1mL 2 times a day.

My babes in the same boat we’ve been doing gripe water but probably not enough because not seeing a difference yet

Mylicon works better imo

I use both (only as needed)..mylicon during the day + gripe water at night. IMO the gripe water works best.

I use mylicon before each feed and gripe water before bed. Maybe seeing improvements but it could all be in my head forreal...bicycling his legs and tummy messages throughout the day and before bed also seem to help. I weirdly enjoy hearing his toots during the bicycling 😆 ohhh fridababy windi!

Mylicon actually made my bub spit up more, gripe water is working great for us though! I give .5-1ml during a feeding when he’s fussy and he usually chills out. I think it helps him a lot!

i thought Mylicon was after each feed… maybe that’s why I don’t see any difference 😣

do you use the gripe water that is specifically for night time or it doesn’t matter?

Avatar

yes! The Gripe Water PM is so helpful…especially when the gas aches would keep him up for hours at night.

They make a medication for infants, called omeprazole, my little girl is on that for spitting up and colic. It might be worth looking into? It is an anti-acid medication for reflux.

Our pediatrician told us that gripe water is mostly sugar water, and to use Mylicon.

My doctor suggested before just because if he gets full during nursing, giving him something more in his tummy afterwards would fill him up too much. Their bellies are so small at this age and a little goes a long way. Who knows if that's the correct way or not 🤷‍♀️

Is it cheating

My husband just told me that at work he and his male friends/coworkers pinch each others nipples as like a joke, I think it’s inappropriate and it’s cheating in a way and he does not agree he thinks it’s just funny and nothings wrong with it

A full 8 hours

My 1 month and five week old newborn just slept 8 hours. I genuinely don’t know who blessed me, but good lord am I thankful. We really only woke up a few times to put her binky back in her mouth. She did just got home from the NICU and adjustment was pretty hard for the past few nights, so she certainly deserves a lot of sleep. Just happy to see her feeling more comfortable.

Baby hates me?

Why does my baby hate me. All she wants from me is to be fed and then screams and screams at me, she settles with everyone else and i don't understand what im doing wrong. I feel like the worst mum ever and am really struggling.

Is nursery a bit out of line?

Today I learned that my son was “seen by someone” when picking him up. Apparently speech therapist saw him in the nursery to evaluate him and I only learned about it on pick up.

No warning, no even proper explanation of what triggered it. With one staff member saying “he is not speaking at all”, and another dismissing it and saying it’s completely normal.

And everyone seem to dismiss my shock as he is the most chatty happiest child at home.

So it triggers me that instead of finding a way to get him “open up” and make him feel secure so he starts speaking naturally. They now decided he needs to be “fixed” and probably push him into more anxiety with it. Without even consulting us.

Front sleeping

My baby is 9 months old and I was told a while back that the sleep should always start in there back, is this true and why?
My baby always wants to front sleep now and I’m fighting every night to get the sleep to start on his back or side
