Baby smiles at everyone else but me

Hey mumma’s/ mumma’s to be, My 8 week old is smiling so much at my partner, my mother and mother in law, my brother and sister in law but hasn’t smiled at me once, he’s always crying or sleeping when he’s with me and I feel like I’m doing something wrong or i don’t make him happy. I’ve tried everything everyone else tries and still nothing…feeling like the worst mum in the world I know it’s nothing but you know when you feel like you’re just not getting anywhere and you’re the one that he always goes back too when he’s crying or needs a nappy change it’s all you feel like you’re good for? I dunno am I overthinking it all??

My little girl will smile for my mum every time she sees her multiple times and has only smiled for me once! Im sure you are doing everything right x

May it be that you’re little one just sees you as an extension of himself whereas all these other people are new and different to him? It’s not that you’re boring or doing something wrong, just simply you are his world and all these other people are separate to that. Definitely not the worst mum. Just everything he needs! We often forget to show appreciation to those we care and love most as they’re home and we can sometimes take that love for granted. I wouldn’t take it personal, but feel privileged that he sees you as home and comfort 🥰

My baby smiles at my MIL all the time! I get a few every now and then. She’s 9 weeks x

My little girl is the same at 9 weeks, she smiles at the lampshade more than me! And everyone else, but the lampshade really tops it off to be honest 😅 altho I have to laugh! I think it’s because we are there all the time, it’s not because they don’t love us, it’s because we are their world and we are to then just a natural extension of themselves. In time when they are more aware of what’s going on, I suspect it will change and they will start to see us differently xxx
