Parking at Pinderfields

Will be having our first baby at Pinders in the next week or so and have a few questions about parking. Feel a little in the dark about labour and delivery at Pinderfields as I’ve been given absolutely zero information from the midwife so any other useful info would also be appreciated!
- is there a drop off bay if my partner needs to get me in in a hurry (usually parking in the main car park can take us up to 15 mins!)?
- can my partner be reimbursed or given a reduced cost for parking whilst I’m in hospital?
- if there is a drop off bay, can this be used when we leave as well?

Thanks! X

Yeah there's an emergency entrance to the labour ward at the back which is drop off! And no I don't think you can be reimbursed for parking. I gave birth there in May and no one said anything about it anyway 🤷‍♀️

There's a parking permit scheme so you still pay the 24 hour rate but you can come and go in that time rather than having to pay everytime you leave and come back - there's a form on the website from what I saw when I was looking.

thanks for this! Do you by any chance have a link to the form?

https://www.midyorks.nhs.uk/getting-here/ if you scroll to the bottom under what concessions do you offer there's a link there to the forms

No problem at all! Stressful enough without worrying about parking so any little info we can share is helpful!

yes there’s a drop off emergency maternity just further down, we used it for leave too. you won’t get any help for parking the form above is only for the special wards like it tells you maternity isn’t included in there, however if all is good your either out the same day or the next day so would probably only need one day, i was in for 4 days and it was so expensive for my mum has she came everyday and a couple of the days she went out to go get me some food had already paid the £6.90 and then had to pay it again in the same day x

i had my baby in feb and when we asked if there was anything around parking they said they couldn’t help so god knows x

oh lovely.. one thing on their website and another in person 🤦‍♀️ I might just take a copy of this when the time comes and show them and ask for clarification and see what happens

Avatar

we obviously asked because my mum was coming in and out over the space of 4 days and had to keep paying it but they said there wasn’t anything to us x

Oh that's rubbish - hospital parking is extortionate as it is let alone when you've just had a baby and need people around you for support!

definitely it’s shocking there, ours my mum had just left at 10 when visiting hours were over then a few hours later they had a bed for me on the labour ward so she had to come back again, don’t know why they can’t just let one person stay with you like other wards x

Can anyone give me advice or tell me why?

Midwife rang me yesterday to book the first appointment.
I’m 4 month post partum so only seen her a few month ago. She sounded really pissed with me, asked multiple times if I wanted to carry on with the pregnancy. I’m 9 weeks on Monday.
This is my third baby.
Look I get why she’d sound pissed I’m aware your meant to wait and I’m aware of the risks. But this is her job and I felt really judged on the phone. ( This is not my question)

She said she’d book me in for Wednesday then I’ll get a scan a few days after at the most a week. I will not be 12 weeks then, Is it because this pregnancy is a high risk hence the early scan?

Advice

I’m 15 weeks pregnant, first time mum, I’ve had so many issues and scares this pregnancy so feel like every chance, twinge, pain or ache is just worrying.

I went to my gp yesterday as I’ve had bad backache and belly ache/ belly twinges the last week, I thought it could be a uti as I know they’re common in pregnancy but they said it was all clear, they gave me a weeks worth of antibiotics (amoxicillin) just incase but I woke up this morning and my back feels like I’m heavy on my period, I have pcos so my period pains where quite rough😩

Is this a normal feeling or should I be concerned?

Hey!
I've just had my glucose test back and I've got Gestational Diabetes 😩 has anyone else been diagnosed/had it before?
I'm really struggling with coming to terms with it and anxious about how I'll manage it/what it'll mean for the rest of my pregnancy x

Head down movements

Anyone that’s baby is head down, where do you feel your movements?
My movements are all felt pretty much on my left side, maybe like an inch above my belly button but on my left. Hiccups are felt there too. Some times can feel like squirming like really low down. Can’t tell if she’s still breech or not! I’ve got a presentation scan Monday to find out but still interested to find out where everyone’s movements are if head down, or even breech!
