QA tongue tie

Has anyone’s baby’s had their tongue tie divided at QA recently? Just wanting to hear experiences as undecided whether to go private.

Thanks

I don’t think QA can do it! I was referred to the specialist in Southampton as they are the closest specialist to us!

The dr was really good, and reassuring! The division was super quick and it did improve her latch in our case which was our reasoning for doing it xx

oh that’s strange, I’ve been booked in for an assessment next week with my boy and they told me on the phone if it’s minor enough they’ll do it there and then?

And same reason for me, seems like it’s impacting his latch x

Oh perhaps they’ve hired someone recently at QA! Mine was done in February I had one appointment with the feeding specialist at QA but was told there wasn’t a tongue tie specialist here so was referred to Southampton! But it was still NHS and my experience was really positive so I imagine it would be the same xx

I was referred to Southampton because my little one was over 3-4 weeks at the time but would have been QA if she was within that age x

he will be just 3 weeks and 6 days on his appointment lol so hopefully they’ll do it there and then! X

I hope so, hope I haven’t just been given the wrong info on the phone. Glad to hear your experience was positive though, thank you x

Ohh yes ignore me that’s right my LO was 2 months by the time we got a referral 🤦🏼‍♀️ so that’s why I couldn’t have it done at QA

I don’t know what the process is now but my 8 year old has tonge tie and I didn’t get it done when she was little and now she has all her adult teeth she’s having to have braces and teeth out as it impacts on speech and jaw/mouth development. I wish she had had it done as a baby as she would have been less likely to have issues now x

I was told Southampton do it more than QA

My LG had hers done at 13 days old at QA. Same as you, it was an assessment and they decided to do it on the day.
It’s very quick and although she cried, they put her to the breast immediately and she was fine. We’ve had no issues with feeding since xx

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
