My LO started to refuse bottles and screaming and I couldn’t figure it out but then I smelt her bottles and they smelled of soap. Any recommendations on how to fix this? Here’s how I clean them.
After every bottle I rinse the bottle out and put the bottle and parts in a bowl in the sink (I use to keep soap in this bowl but decided it would be best to not use soap when soaking anymore) I only have 6 bottles so they are never sitting for more than a day. When they are all dirty I wash them with soap and water (water is 138degrees, I get burned through the gloves). Immediately afterwards I run them through the sterilizer. I use dawn dish soap if that makes any difference. Since I quit adding soap to the soaking bowl I think it’s gotten better but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or could share how you clean your bottles. I also just changed my baby bottle brush to see if that helps.

I do the same you are doing and I use dawn dish soap as well but my bottles are fine. Try to rinse them a lil bit more, maybe that helps.

Try to do everything the same, see if that makes a difference. She may also be going through a milestone. Had to drop a feed bc she refuses to eat early in the morning

I had this problem too and I couldn’t figure out a way to fix it. I ended up just switching to Dapple Soap because it has no scent

I do the same thing. Not sure if you’re already doing this but I rinse the bottles in cold water. I heard cold water is better at rinsing all the soap off than hot water

Thank you everyone. I’ll try rinsing in cold water if that don’t work maybe time to change soap.

Plastic is porous so the soaking you were doing probably made them soak residual soap inside just keep rinsing with hot water eventually it’ll be all gone

I think you are correct it’s already getting better. ❤️
