2 weeks in and still struggling with adjusting. I adore my baby but the lack of sleep the feeling of being a dairy cow (currently breastfeeding) has got me feeling so low at times. I know it will get easier but just wondering when others found they were coping a little better?

I’m 4 nearly 5 weeks in and it’s getting easier, some nights I feel the tiredness more but my body seems to be adjusting and baby sleeping a bit longer. It’s still tough though and I’d love just one night of complete undisturbed sleep. If you can express and get your partner to give them a bottle it might help you get some more but I find myself waking up to wake him up to do it so defeats the purpose🤦🏼♀️ Breastfeeding is tough and I found myself looking at formula yesterday just so my partner could do more feeds and give me a rest 😂

It’s up and down, I felt better after a couple of weeks but at 5 weeks now and it’s got harder, little one isn’t sleeping well at the mo and I feel like I’m feeding more than ever.. so maybe it’s just riding the wave, some days will feel good and others won’t !

I’m 2 weeks in. I ended up getting formula as I was feeling like a cow And it was getting me down me being up and my partner sound asleep. Midwife said to do what’s best for my mental health. Happy mum happy baby 🥰 I do breast during the day and then bottle at night. I have expressed some milk so my partner can feed at night so I can get some sleep as well x

I’m 6 weeks in and still have hard days… my little one isn’t very good at sleeping during the night and my partner works so I’m feeling the toll… I just try and rest in the day as much as I can. Like I said some good days and some bad days x

I lasted 3 weeks exclusively breastfeeding and I was just exhausted. I am now combination feeding with breast and Formula and it’s a game changer. She sleeps longer and is so much more settled. I am happier too and I am not feeling the pressure as much. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. X
I needed this comment! Thank you.
So glad it’s working out for you. Can I ask what your BF/formula ratio is for a day? X

To be honest it changes every day. Yesterday I breastfed at 9am from the boob, then formula at 11:30am. Baby slept until 3pm and then had formula. Then the next feed was an expressed bottle of breast milk. For her bedtime I always bath her, get her ready for bed and then she goes on the boob in a quiet dark room. She now knows that’s her bedtime and she sleeps well. I try and do one formula, one breast milk. It’s working so far. She’s still getting the breast milk but it sleeping better and I know she’s fed! I’ve only done that for nearly a week and I’ve seen a huge change. Everyone is different but it’s totally changed everything for us. Do what is right for you and your baby X
