Has anyone had any luck getting their bed sharing 1 year old to sleep in their crib? We have been bed sharing since our son was a few weeks old, from the start he hated his bassinet and my recovery was so rough that we felt like bed sharing was our only option (please don’t shame me for this, I know how the majority feels about bed sharing). Even in our bed my son doesn’t sleep well, especially recently. It’s like he is stimulated by being next to us at night time (he has to be touching me or playing with my ears) I know he isn’t getting good sleep and I am certainly not getting good sleep. We have tried a handful of times to get him to sleep in his crib in his room but were always unsuccessful. He would sleep maybe an hour then wake up screaming and either refuse to go back to sleep or would require me to put him back to sleep and he’d wake up again 30 minutes to an hour later. I know it takes consistency but since my husband works during the week and I work weekends, it is mainly me trying to sleep train him and the exhaustion got real and eventually I gave up. I don’t let my son cry it out so I’m just looking for any advice/helpful tips to get him in his own room.

I just bought a floor bed for my son that I placed side by side with my bed that we coslept in and will try to transition him that way. Once he gets used to being in his own bed I will move it to his room

It’s a mission and consistently is key. I did a hybrid of many methods but takingcarababies has guided us best. I’m an avid cosleep and “still-nursed. I still get up 2-3 times a night but wouldn’t want to miss any of it. I will also have a few more kids and do it all the same again. Don’t listen to the shamers, trust your gut. If it’s time to get baby in it’s own bed, then it’s time. Just make the decision, BUT you HAVE TO STICK WITH IT OR IT WONT WORK. Good luck momma

Co slept from birth until 13 months then transitioned him to a floor bed next to ours. I would lay with him to put to sleep and once he was asleep i would go to my bed.
