Please I need your honest opinion about this situation as it bothering me a lot. I was in complicated relationship and my partner did not know I was pregnant...then I was threatened with a murder by my mentally ill neighbour while pregnant. My best friend hosted me for around 5-6 weeks, and she kept all my belongins and furniture. I went to hospital from her place to give a birth..I had induction, was in the hospital from Monday night till Sunday. She visited me and then came for me and baby. While I was in the hospital she moved my belongings to my new flat, I told her that I will pay for it. She has a lot of time and in general very active person and she loves helping people and I do love her for her quality but she can be dominant with me and over excited , I am more calm and quite. So we came to my new place with my new born...she was nice and tried to help, I was very tired after sleepless nights in hospital and giving a birth through induction...she was going to stay with me overnight to help with a baby, but at one point I just broke in tears and said that I need privacy to bond with my baby...my friend does not have children herself but she has personality when likes to lecture me and pretends like she knows how to loom after babies because years ago (30 years ago or more she was looking after siblings) so I just wanted to stay alone with a baby. She run to the kitchen and started crying like she was going to help and I was so bad to her...sorry for long text...but who is right and who is wrong here ? She helped me a lot but she did not understand my emotion and feelings after giving a birth and being first time mum...I want your opinion

I understand your emotions after giving birth and wanting to bond with your baby, that’s totally normal and your friend should take that into consideration…I don’t think anyone is in the right or wrong here, your friend wants to help you which is great and you want to spend some time with your baby which is absolutely fine! ….things probably feel a bit intense atm because of the hormones etc, just try to explain to your friend that you’re really grateful for her and deffo wanna spend time with her but just want a little bit of time to bond with your new baby xx
@Jessica she called it a scene...she never will understand me, but I know If she could have experience the motherhood she would put boundaries straight away....then day or two latter when she was at my place I said is hard for me to talk to my newborn baby in front of people and she said that I can practise in front of her, she would sit there and I will try to learn talking to my baby in front of her...sorry, but I think is really weird to say this to a woman who just became mother for a first time and feeling so vulnerable and need time to bond

Difficult situation. It's a great friend sounds like you can't afford to lose but she has crossed a line so you will need to find a nice way to tell her that you are so grateful for her support and helping you move and hosting you but you're the mum and you get to decide how you talk to your baby, or if you need alone time but she is welcome to come back tomorrow or in a few days.

Honestly sounds like your friend is sort of your 'partner' in a sense and so it's understandable she's feeling pushed out and your feelings are also very very valid and understandable. Postpartum is hard for everyone involved. Partners too. You will be exhausted and snappy a lot more than usual for awhile and it may make her feel like nothing she does is good enough . I know that's how my husband felt for quite awhile when our daughter was born 😞
@Alex yes she is good, but can be sometimes too much and because I allowed her since our friendship started to use different tone with me. She talks to me sometimes in a very dominantive manner. And she does not have kids herself and she was going to teach me about baby. Is really hard for new mum
She thinks it was my dream to have a baby and straight away coming out of hospital I should be so happy and can't complain about things. She can recognise only her feelings
@Ruta another thing I did not send any picture of my baby, baby is 6 months now. My friend is very close to me , but I believe that babies are very sensitive and I did not want to send her pics to anyone except my mother. She is upset because I did not send pictures , because i pushed her away I did not tell her anything about baby in my messages. . Also she was crossed because I told my partner about baby and he came back to me
