Hi all. So I'm thinking about my gender scan which is upcoming and I was wondering. If you don't want to know the gender do you still get to see your baby or is it obvious which it is.
My boyfriend had the idea of him finding out first and then telling me which I find cute, just hoping I still get to see my baby on the scan.

If it’s NHS they will either tell you or they won’t, they won’t just tell one of you and hide it from the other for a reveal style thing 😊
If it’s private, they’ll tell one of you and not the other if that’s what you wish, and you can still see the baby. They’ll probably just hide the screen from you when checking so you can’t see 😊

We've just had a private one & we asked for the gender to be put in an envelope for us so soon as she checked for the sex she turned the TV off 😊 soon as I heard the heartbeat & saw the photos I just knew though 🙈

If its private, they will just ask you to shut your eyes at different parts of the scan, ie-when babies legs are open etc. But other than that the scan is the same x

We were going to ask the sonographer to write it down for us x

if it’s nhs they won’t.

Only way to get any kind of gender reveal is to go private nhs won’t write it down or only tell your partner. In case they wrong they stopped doing it it’s a shame for those that can’t afford to go private

My local NHS board is pretty clear and strict on the fact that the 20 week scan isn’t a gender scan, they can tell you if you want but they don’t mess around, they don’t write it down, if the baby won’t move to the right place then they wont extend your appointment so you can find out, my ultrasound department would definitely say no to this!

I had mine done a private 16 weeks scan. They did a fetal well-being at the start, but I saw his bits straight away😂😂😂😂
