Mama needs some help!

Hello mama's, I have a 7 month old baby girl. Does anyone have any tips for what I can do with my girl, she has never liked watching TV, cartoons or films. She doesn't like toys as every toy I give her last 2-5 minutes before she screams the house down. She has 3 different types of walker what she can go in and she hates them to,she has 2 bouncers one which clips on door frames ect and one she can get in and she can move around in it and bounces and it also has toys attached to it and she also hates that too 😂 everything I give her she doesn't like... she likes to be held like she's sat in a high chair by me.l, but won't sit in her high chair for more then 5 minutes? So I spend 12+ hours a day holding her and playing with her not being able to put her down or she kicks off to the point that she is blue in the safe and can barely breath from the crying. My back is breaking at the point and I love my baby girl more then anything in this world.. I just need 5 minutes to sit down 👇 do any mama's have any ideas for me or any mama's have the same issue xx

You could try painting? Playing with things that aren’t toys but still fun for littles? Cereals (good for textures and sensory play etc) put some in a sandwich bag, in a bottle, on a tray!

Hi, this just came up on my feed. I have a few suggestions, (with supervision)
- messy play- different textures, water, yogurt, cheerios, cooked pasta, oatmeal, paint etc..
- bubbles
- reading texture picture books and letting her feel it - make your voice animated.
- tissue box sensory toy
- singing
- peak a boo, hiding behind a blanket
- building blocks

If all else fails, the park or garden. There’s also free children centre play sessions you could attend.

It happened to me when my LO was around 6.5-7.5 months, she still do it sometimes, I believe its attachment! There was times she won’t like her dada too and would just cry and cry. One thing I did is put her down on her pack and play or crib safely and move around her. And Yes she would cry but as long as they are safe, its okay. (I do pick her up if she’s crying in pain or screaming on too of her lungs, but she does her small cries I just let her) you got this tho 🫶🏻

Messy play 😊 home made edible paint food coloring on cooked pasta home made play dough. My LG would sit on a pile of cooked spaghetti for a while. Or use berry to squish and finger "paint" and bubbles.

thank you, I will give this a try🤍

thank you, we're put shopping now so I'll grab some things to try when we're home 🤍

we have a play pen, she will go in there for 10 maybe 15 minutes. But I can't put any toys in with her or she cries, we're out on a walk now doing some shopping and then to the park. She will only last maybe 2 and a half hours out before she screams and wants out. I've tried carrying her while pushing the pram so she has a better view ect but she doesn't like that either. And she lasts about 10 minutes with a sensory toy and then won't touch another lol xx

thank you, will definitely give this a try with her 🤍

Mine often doesn’t like her toys at home, but if you take her to a park and put them out on a picnic rug she loves them 🤷‍♀️ she also likes it when I put all the toys in a fabric/soft box next to her and she sits there and pulls each toy out one by one. Mine only got better with toys once she could sit independently.

Very similar here, my back is killing me! A few things he does like -

Bubbles! 🫧

Reading books together 📚

Anything outside 🌲

Singing songs with movements 🎶
(I’ll do the Jessie Cat playlist from our Sing & Sign class on Spotify for example)

she absolutely loves the bath, she loves the water but she doesn't play with the toys in the bath. She just splashes and laughs and eats the bubbles 🤪 xx

Avatar

thank you, she can sit up by herself she just has lazy moments where she will lean to the side and not support herself lol. But I will give the toys outside a try and the box xx

I do a lot of singing and terrible dancing while I’m cleaning. She’s amused and it gives me time to get a few things done without having her in the sling. I’ve started putting the toys in a little ikea box/ drawer divider thing and she sits and looks at them and them pulls them out? Keep trying? They keep changing on us!

My boy is like this! On his bad days, I put him in his sling on my back, so I’m not restricted and I can get things done around the house. It is a phase they go through. Now that he’s mobile he’s a very content in crawling about and finding things he can pull himself up on. Xx

I hope my girl does lol, she's 7 months and can sit by herself and has now started to crawl and still wants me to carry her every where I go lol xx

Nursery funding

My child turned 9 months last week. I applied for government funded hours nearly 2 months ago and so well within the required timeframe for the April term, however upon receiving my first invoice without the funding applied and having questioned this, I have now been informed that the stretched funding doesn’t start until 4th May.

Has anyone else been told it won’t start until May?

The government site states it should start from April 1st, and so I intentionally set my nursery start and return to work as the start of April for that reason, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to afford the nursery on my sole income without the funding

Toddlers

How often are your toddlers asking for food? My oldest who is 3 just finished a whole plate of food and not even 10 minutes later he’s requesting more food. I know he’s going through a growth spurt, but how do you respond to this.

He has no respect for anything to do with me.

Husband and I decided to separate 3 days ago. I've been sleeping on the floor in the kids room, and we both have to stay in the same apartment for a while. He wont stop pushing little things and I am reaching my limit. Photos in comments

Is this normal?

Is it just my husband that does this? He is able to work from home via his computer and in the mornings and evenings he is on there doing his job. When he is done for the day he tends to stay in the room and either play video games or watch something. He will occasionally come out and play with the girls for a few minutes and that’s it but when I really need him he says he is busy. My daughters are both 1 year old now and I am just wondering how much involvement should he have with them now?
Idk if this is the norm or not…..

Starting BLW

Yesterday our pediatrician said we could start purées or baby lead feeding. My baby is exclusively breast-fed. She’s already tried some foods, but now we can start with one to two meals a day. This is what my doctor recommends, any ideas for what to make with this??
