Final weeks of breech pregnancy

Following this because I’m in the exact same position! Really am hoping I go into labour before my section is booked for! Everyone around me keeps telling me I’m silly for wanting a breach birth and not just having a section, really have been quite up about it! So glad I’m not the only one! ❤️ xx

@Alexandra we've been told the same thing, even by some consultants, but our breech consultant is absolutely incredible and I trust him so much so hoping to go before our date too!!💕xx

Yeh I’m literally the same, honestly I don’t know about you but the guilt some doctors and family/ friends have made me feel for opting this way and pushing my section date to as late as possible in hope I have a breach birth is honestly heartbreaking 💔 xx

@Alexandra yeah we're in the same position, everyone just keeps saying take the section it'll be easier, but we always wanted a natural birth so was really upset when little miss wouldn't move at all and had to book in our section, aslong as we're both safe that's the main thing but would love to try a natural birth first xx

I never booked a section and ended up having my Breech baby vaginally at 37+2. I had an experienced consultant on call for it and felt no guilt at all for trying, even though I knew I had a 50% chance of having to have an emergency section anyway. If you feel you want it and you have a good medical team behind you, stay your course!

I was booked in for my c section because bubs was breech since 24 weeks. I also did everything to turn bubs but was unsuccessful. I ended up going into labour early morning of my c section date but was too scared to give birth vaginally to a breech bubs so was rushed into cesarean straight away. And it was actually such a wonderful experience. All the best!

No tips but this is how my breech labour started.
Hopefully this isn’t tmi but my first signs were loosing a lot of my mucus plug in the morning, going to the bathroom to poop three times that day and contractions started in the evening. I didn’t notice additional back pain or hip pain or anything like that as I’d had such bad pain throughout the later stages of pregnancy.

I found out at my 40 week checkup that baby was frank breech (bum down with legs curled up) and that ECV wasn’t an option due to my amniotic fluid levels being borderline low.

C-section was scheduled for two days later, the day before I began losing mucus plug and having dull period-like cramps that turned into lower back contractions throughout the day.

Labored at home until around 2am that night when contractions were about 5 minutes apart and very painful.. went to hospital and found out I was 6 cm dilated so they immediately prepped me for c-section and baby was born about 2 hours later.

Having wanted an unmedicated natural birth I had a lot of feelings about everything afterward, but the procedure went great overall and I’m almost fully healed physically 3 weeks PP.

Doc also said that future VBAC shouldn’t be a problem so I’m hopeful for the next one! 🩷

To help labor progress I suggest staying relaxed, doing things that keep you calm and help that oxytocin flow!
