Child support and other expenses

If you choose to put your child in childcare then that is your expense alone. Child support is the money they deem is what you need from there dad to raise the child. My ex claimed he earns nothing so pays $40 a month for 5 kids. I am a stay at home mum but no way I could afford daycare or any form of childcare

is it same when I return to work?

It depends on what was agreed to at the hearing or sit down for the support order. I know the first time I went we made it separate. He paid $100 weekly put on a card. Then he paid half of the daycare expenses personally through the daycare payment app.

Generally speaking if he shares physical custody with you he would only pay for daycare he needs on his own days. He wouldn't pay for daycare on your days. If he doesn't Share physical custody and the children live with you more than 60% of the time and you need childcare (when you're working- it won't count when you put them in daycare while you're at home) he can be asked for 50% of it.

thanks . I’m doing 100% custody and paying all the childcare fees . I’m going back to work soon and don’t know how to get him to pay his part and wasn’t sure how it works
