Newborn with painful wind

My newborn is 6 days old and seems to be in agony with wind. 😭 To the point he won’t feed because he is squirming and thrashing around so much. He’s breastfed and it causes him to latch and unlatch over and over because of the wind which is making feeding something I dread!! Means it takes well over an hour every time. I’ve started giving him infacol before every feed which has helped slightly but not really. Any advice please?

I never used Infacol because I found with my little one it made it worse and caused her to get a bit of reflux. I used Dentinox. I found after a few uses it really helped x

I’ll try that - so you give it before every feed too? X

Honestly the massages like bicyle legs, bring the knees to chest help. If not, burp baby after feeding. I know people say you don’t need to burp breast fed babies, but my girl is extremely windy & has to be burped after every feed.

Please try COLIEF!!! My LO had really bad wind.. these were a life saver for us!!! I can’t express how much I rate them.

second colief! Changed my baby, and actually my life šŸ˜‚

I don’t know why Colief isn’t mentioned as regular as gripe water I think because it’s expensive but who cares anything for our babies right! ā¤ļø

expensive but absolutely worth it! If I’m being honest I didn’t see much difference when I gave my baby gripe water 😊

my baby had really bad trapped wind from week 1 and I couldn’t see her in pain.. someone recommended colief and from week 1 to week 11 my life has changed. I have given it with every feed life saver. However she’s started to get colic now so I give her some gripe water too you can use combo as gripe water is more herbal. They say you should aim to stop colief at 3 months did you? I will wean my LG off it at 12 weeks and see how she is.. I’m nervous about weaning her off it if I’m honest 😩😩😩 but you can always re use it if symptoms come back x

I think Harry was 4/5 months when we stopped using it - we started introducing purƩes around the same time which really helped too x

Here’s another option that saved my life! I used the Frida baby windi the gas passer.

Frida Baby Windi Gas and Colic Reliever for Babies (10 Count) https://a.co/d/cYyjHic

For morning and night diaper changes or as needed, I would help my lo pass gas. It’s not the most glorious thing, but it would pass babies gas and give instant relief without the need for giving him anything. I took it with me every where and never had any problems with gas. Hope this helps.

I can also second the Windi, however I find my bubba can still have wind sometimes after it. Be prepared for the massive poops when it does work! holy moly, never seen poop fly so far across a room before šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🄲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🄰

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Did I overreact?

I have had 3 c sections, recently had a wisdom teeth removal (4) to be exact and all my mom did was visit the day BEFORE and then she only sent 1 text. She has NEVER spent one full day with me and doesn’t acknowledge my achievements much. She just isn’t there when I need her to be. She claims she’s always working but she lives like 7 minutes away! she can come help with the kids so my husband can have break? we don’t ask her for much and she only sees the kids 1-2 a month. She also didn’t visit with my last c section. I told her that she should’ve gotten the abortion when she had the chance with me because why would you have me and neglect me emotionally? To not actually give me a present father in my life. I am very angry all she does is disappoint me. She only wants to show up for certain people in the family and I just want to grab her and shake her and ask her why can’t she be a good present mother?
